The Denver Broncos offense knows they will have their hands full with Seattle Seahawks All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2. Broncos coach John Fox and tight end Julius Thomas said Sherman was a “great” player on Tuesday. “Well I think his length, he’s got great instincts,” Fox said. “He’s been operating at a pretty high level for some time, which consistency is part of being a great player. Those are some characteristics I guess.” Sherman called himself ”the best corner in the game” after the Seahawks win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. “I know he’s a terrific player, a great cover guy,” said Fox, who would not comment on Sherman’s spat with 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree. “I know the Seahawks are statistically very good on defense, and in particular pass defense. I’m sure their secondary has a lot to do with that.” Sherman will be one of the Seahawks’ key players when the two teams face-off in Super Bowl XLVIII. Thomas, who hauled in 12 touchdown catches this season, knows what Sherman can do on the field. “He’s an All-Pro cornerback, first and foremost,” Thomas said. “He’s done a great job ever since he’s been in this league.” Thomas doesn’t mind Sherman’s post game rant. “He likes to have a little fun out there,” he said. “I don’t necessarily think there is anything wrong with that.” Sherman tipped a pass intended for Crabtree to teammate Malcolm Smith, who intercepted the ball in the end zone with 22 seconds remaining to seal Seattle’s 23-17 victory. Sherman led the league with eight interceptions this season.  He has 20 interceptions in three seasons with the Seahawks.
