The Denver Broncos have promoted wide receiver D'Andre Goodwin from their practice squad. The team also placed fullback Spencer Larsen on injured reserve after he hurt his knee in the regular-season finale. Goodwin, an undrafted free agent, has not seen any action this season. The Broncos escaped with an overtime victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday and travel to face New England this weekend.

Demaryius Thomas a rising star after many injuries

Betrayed by his body, it took Demaryius Thomas until the end of his second NFL season to validate his status as the first wide receiver selected in the 2010 draft, ahead of Dallas' Dez Bryant. Now he's a household name, despite playing in Denver's read-option offense, where wide receivers serve more as blockers and decoys than pass-catchers. Thomas ended the fastest...

Tim Tebow Gone and Blew Up Twitter

Anyone sick of the Tebow hype? Too bad for you. It’s only getting BIGGER. Following last night’s “heroics,” I tweeted the following trying to be one of those totally predictable wannabe-witty Twitter people: Well, turns out there was some fact based in that opinion. According to the netizens at Mashable, Tebow not only helped put the Steelers away, but he also climbed into...

NFL Picks for Divisional Playoffs Have Tim Tebow Keeping Things Close With Patriots, Packers Rolling Over Giants

If it weren't for the five weekdays that separate games, I could easily make the case that NFL playoff time is the very best time there. And even with the break, it's still pretty fantastic. The opening round of the playoffs reminded us of that reality, when even the blowouts were fun to watch. The Saints easily could have lost but ended up winning by 17, and the Giants trailed...

How to Avoid Tebowmania

I've noted this before, but it bears repeating: People who root against Tim Tebow don't necessarily root against him because they dislike HIM, but because they dislike the mile-wide lava flow of mass-media afterbirth that accompanies all of his travails. Taken on its own, it was a BLAST watching Tebow and the Broncos upset the Steelers yesterday. Even a filthy liberal secular...
