Peyton Manning will have to wait until next season to face the Indianapolis Colts. His old team lost 24-9 at Baltimore in the AFC wild-card game Sunday. So the Ravens (11-6) will visit Denver next weekend to face the Broncos (13-3), the AFC's top seed. Had the Colts won, there would have been a circus-like atmosphere all week in Denver in anticipation of the reunion between the Broncos quarterback and the team he played with for 14 seasons before their split-up last spring. Instead, the Broncos get a chance to send Ray Lewis into retirement Saturday. Manning will face the Colts sometime next season in Indianapolis - the exact date won't be known until the 2013 schedule comes out. --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Broncos’ Manning, Fox hope to beat their bye-week blues

Broncos coaches John Fox (left) and Mike McCoy (right) talk with quarterback Peyton Manning (center). (Image courtesy of The Globe and Mail) If there’s one scary statistic to consider coming into the Denver Broncos‘ divisional playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens this Saturday, it’s this: quarterback Peyton Manning and head coach John Fox have not fared well after a playoff...

Tom Brady makes fun of himself, Peyton Manning in interview

Tweet For much of his career, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has taken on the persona of his coach, Bill Belichick, when there is a microphone in his face. Brady almost always appears calm, matter-of-fact and like everything is all-business when he is being interviewed. However, in a recent interview with the Boston Herald, [...]

16-0: Denver Bronco Trindon Holliday is NFL’s Ultimate Voodoo Doll

Most people carry around inanimate objects as good luck charms. Things like a lucky rabbit’s foot, four leaf clover, or even wear a pair of underwear that seems to add an extra bit of fortune to their life. One NFL team can now say they have themselves a lucky kick returner.   Denver Bronco rookie … Continue reading »

Denver Broncos: Wild Card Round Power Rankings (#2)

It’s 2006 again. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning appear to be on a crash course. Both quarterbacked arguably the best teams in the league (the Broncos and Patriots ranked 2nd and 3rd in the NFL in DVOA, but I don’t trust #1 Seattle on the road). Both are MVP candidates. Peyton Manning is currently viewed as the favorite, but I think that’s both undeserved and beneficial to the...

Atlanta Falcons: Wild Card Round Power Rankings (#5)

I’d like to start this off by saying the argument that Matt Ryan can’t go deep into the playoffs because he’s never won a playoff game is ridiculous. Peyton Manning was once 0-3 in the playoffs and he went on to win a Super Bowl. Plus, two of Ryan’s playoff losses came against eventual Super Bowl Champs. Finally, it’s just 3 games. It doesn’t really mean much. However...

Ravens could be team of destiny

Every single football fan without a 410 or 713 area code seems to want Brady vs. Manning next weekend, but I'm not quite ready to etch CBS's dream AFC Championship matchup in stone. I'm on an island this week and this island is littered with crab cakes, Jim Palmer stories and Barry Levinson movie references. This island may have some destiny on it, too. Yes, I like...

BCS National Championship Game Prediction

The 2012 NCAA Football season was an exciting one for Notre Dame and Irish fans. Living in Indianapolis, I can say that it’s been an exciting year. NFL Wild Card Sunday Picks: IND @ BAL, SEA @ WSH

After a mediocre 1-for-2 day predicting yesterday's Wild Card games, let's take a stab at it again, with today's contests featuring three rookie quarterbacks. Indianapolis Colts @ Baltimore Ravens, 1pm ET, CBS Did you know the Colts used to be in Baltimore? I wasn't sure if you noticed that the 1,000 or so times it's been mentioned, and undoubtedly will continued...

Ray Lewis’ Return to Ravens’ Defense Should Have Peyton Manning, Broncos on Upset Alert

As Ray Lewis strutted out from the tunnel inside M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon, shimmying from left to right and doing his typical pregame dance routine, the capacity crowd decked out in Black and Purple exploded in excitement. Lewis’ last dance on the field in Baltimore was an emotional ride that saw Joe Flacco and Andrew Luck exchange ugly passes, Ray Rice fumble twice...
