PLAYERS: Derek Wolfe
TEAMS: Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos have signed their top draft pick, defensive tackle Derek Wolfe, to a four-year, $5.2 million contract with $3.2 million in guarantees. The Denver Post first reported the signing. Wolfe, taken in the second round, said Monday night ''my main concern was playing football, so I wasn't really worried about getting the contract done. But still, it's nice to get it out of the way.'' NFL rules, however, preclude Wolfe from joining his teammates at offseason practices until June 8 because his school, the University of Cincinnati, doesn't graduate its 2012 class until next month. So, Wolfe is home in Lisbon, Ohio, working out on his own. ''It stinks,'' he said. ''I like being around my teammates, but you've got to do what you've got to do.''

Broncos DB Mike Adams inherits more than Brian Dawkins’ jersey number

Denver Broncos safety Mike Adams, pictured here in 2011 as a member of the Cleveland Browns, will continue to wear #20 for the Broncos, last worn in Denver by Brian Dawkins. (Jim McIsaac/Getty Images) Brian Dawkins was only a member of the Denver Broncos for three seasons, but in that short time, he left a legacy. Peyton Manning jokes about reporter's height

Peyton Manning is a funny guy. And apparently it doesn’t take him long to warm up to strangers. Manning participated in his first set of organized team activities (OTAs for short) and had some jokes for the press afterwards. Manning was asked about the Broncos second round pick, quarterback Brock Osweiler. Osweiler stands 6’7″ and will be groomed as Peyton’s protege....

Denver Broncos Greatest Offensive Plays: #4

The Immaculate Deflection was an incredible play to win the game. Topping my list at number four, is the Immaculate Deflection.  In a hard fought, defensive struggle that the Denver Broncos pretty much controlled until the final Cincinnati Bengals drive of the game, it took a miracle for the Broncos to come out on top 12-7. The victory would catapult a poorly coached team to a 6...

Broncos' restocked secondary gets high marks

Peyton Manning and Champ Bailey are giving the Denver Broncos' restocked secondary two thumbs-up. Replacing retired safety Brian Dawkins in the starting lineup is free agent Mike Adams alongside second-year pro Quinton Carter. And instead of Andre' Goodman playing opposite Champ Bailey at cornerback, it'll be Tracy Porter with fellow free agent Drayton Florence helping...

Peyton Manning gives 'short' answer to reporter's question

Peyton Manning may be wearing a new uniform this season but the Denver Broncos quarterback showed he still has his old sense of humor. Surrounded by a group of reporters after working out, Manning was asked if it "felt weird to look up at a taller quarterback?" Namely Brock Osweiler— a 6-foot-7 player vying for one of the Broncos' backup quarterback spots. Manning...

It has been over a year since QB Peyton Manning was last on a football field but after he took the field yesterday, it looks to his new teammates that he hasn’t skipped a beat.
