The Rap Sheet:
PLAYERS:

Lonie Paxton,
Demaryius Thomas,
Brian Dawkins
TEAMS: Denver Broncos, New England Patriots
TEAMS: Denver Broncos, New England Patriots
While the Patriots are getting healthy — and have been getting healthy — the Broncos are just the opposite. In fact, they just got hit in a tough spot thanks to a personal situation with one of their players.
According to the Broncos participation report, Lonie Paxton, the former Patriots fan favorite, is out for Saturday’s game. The team has said he is dealing with a family matter and best wishes go out to him. But him being out stings, as Denver doesn’t even have a backup long snapper. Expect them to sign someone.
In addition, WR Eric Decker, who injured his knee beating the Steelers, is out. That’s not surprising. It leaves the Broncos with only one credible WR in Demaryius Thomas. Oh, and safety Brian Dawkins (neck) is doubtful.
Ouch.
