Another bombshell John Fox dropped in his afternoon presser today — quarterback Caleb Hanie, released last week, will be signed back with the team.
Fox confirmed the initial move to release Hanie last week was “procedural.” Translation? The Broncos were avoiding being on the hook for Hanie’s vested veteran status, which would have made his 2012 salary guaranteed. By risking not having a backup quarterback in Week One, the Broncos potentially saved themselves millions this year.
Hanie signed a two-year, $2.25 million deal in the offseason.

Denver, CO. For eight years now, the Denver Broncos have had the luxury of having one of the truly elite cornerbacks in all of the NFL. Champ Bailey, who this year will be entering his 14th season, has simply been one of this generations best cover corners. He is one of the few “shutdown corners” …

Everyone is picking the Denver Broncos to reach the Super Bowl in the 2012 season, because of the addition of Peyton Manning in the offseason. Denver, CO. When an NFL team has the #2 overall pick in any draft, the obvious hope is that the player chosen develops into an every down starter, and a star at his position. For the Denver Broncos in the spring of 2011, they decided to select a pass rush specialist named Von Miller. The Broncos had struggled getting to the quarterback for several seasons, so it was a logical...
In news that will only annoy Broncos fans, DT Ty Warren is likely out for the season after re-aggravating the torn triceps that knocked him out all of the 2011 season.
Warren re-injured himself in the second quarter. Warren had surprisingly won out on the starting defensive tackle job after missing the entire 2010 and 2011 campaigns due to injuries. Before Sunday night'...

The Denver Broncos welcomed the Peyton Manning era to Mile High Stadium. He did not disappoint. Throwing for 253 yards and two touchdowns and a two-point conversion, Manning was his masterful self. The long layoff due to his neck injury didn’t deter him one bit.

We all wondered, so did Broncos President John Elway, head coach John Fox and his dad, Archie Manning. Is it gone? Did he lose the magic? For thirteen years, Peyton Manning spoiled us. As quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, he helped create a dynasty. In those thirteen years, the Colts made the playoffs eleven times. They won their division eight times , made it to the AFC championship...
Now that the dust has settled from the Week 1 and every NFL team has a regular season game under the belts, the business of the season can truly begin.I understand the special part of opening weekend for many fans, but at the same point, I believe that too much emphasis is put upon what happens the first time a team put on pads for the regular season. A win suddenly gives credence...
Just when you thought that Tebowing had finally reached its conclusion, Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller decided to bring it back.

Chris Berman (ESPN, 7) - Peyton Manning told us he was ready. He wasn't kidding.

We clowned on Tom Brady for his goofy studio photos that NBC aired during the Super Bowl, but it’s obvious that whoever the network’s photographer is an old hand at inducing regrettable poses out of athletes. And so there is now Flirty Von Miller, gazing past his hipster glasses to ask you if you need help reaching that top shelf.
That was a mostly plodding first half. Apparently...
