Denver Post:
Then again, who didn’t?
The Broncos were one of four teams who placed a waiver claim on Kregg Lumpkin, who was waived Saturday by the Green Bay Packers.
Lumpkin was awarded to Tampa Bay based on their 3-13 record last year. Seattle (5-11) was next in the waiver line for Lumpkin, followed by the Broncos (8-8) and Houston (9-7).
Not bad for a third down back who shared carries with Knowshon Moreno at Georgia, was an undrafted free agent in 2008, has one NFL carry for 19 yards, and has battled hamstring injuries.
Lumpkin, though, is the type of third-down pass-blocker/receiver that Josh McDaniels loves for his offensive system.
