PLAYERS: Von Miller
TEAMS: Denver Broncos
As reinstatement from his six-game NFL suspension drew near Von Miller started counting down the hours. One week and two days. Three days and two hours. One day and 11 hours. "It hasn't gone by fast though" he said during a sitdown interview with The Denver Post. "A lot of people have said it went by fast. It hasn't. It wasn't easy. And I don't want to get away from that. I want to stay with that focus that it's not easy." Beginning Monday morning Miller is a free man. The Broncos' star pass-rushing linebacker has been sprung from a six-game suspension by the NFL for violating its drug policy. There were plenty of restrictions. He couldn't practice. Couldn't play. Couldn't travel with the team. And he would not be paid. If the Broncos missed him they had a funny way of showing it. They went 6-0 without him. He could attend meetings. He could watch and cheer on the Broncos which he did from the same spot in his house. Mostl...

Von Miller: 'I don't have a substance-abuse problem'

Remember when Von Miller was suspended for six games and the Broncos might be in trouble? Yeah that second part never happened. Denver went 6-0 during Miller's suspension and never skipped a beat. So it probably feels like it went by really fast. Just don't tell Miller that. The linebacker speaking with the Denver Post said the suspension crawled by. "It hasn't...

Von Miller's Six-Game Suspension is Finished

Miller will add his 30 sacks and 134 tackles to the mix as the undefeated Broncos face the Colts and Andrew Luck.

John Fox: Irsay comments are a 'cheap shot' at Peyton Manning

Denver Broncos head coach John Fox responded to Jim Irsay seemingly slighting Peyton Manning by calling the comments of the Indianapolis Colts owner a “cheap shot.” The Broncos are visiting the Colts on Sunday for what will be Manning’s first game back at Lucas Oil Stadium since the team cut him following multiple neck surgeries […]

Broncos RT Franklin in walking boot Monday

It looks like Peyton Manning will have to attend his homecoming at Indianapolis on Sunday without the two massive tackles he started the season with. The Broncos are holding out hope that right tackle Orlando Franklin, who sprained his left knee and ankle Sunday, won't be sidelined for an extended time like All-Pro left tackle Ryan Clady, who landed on IR last month with a foot...

Video: Jessie James and husband Eric Decker grind on golf course

Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker hit the golf course with his wife Jessie James. James isn't a good golfer, but she really enjoys her husband's instructing.

Manning's 17-game streak might not be his greatest

It took Peyton Manning two seasons to turn the floundering Colts into a playoff team and not much longer to make them a perennial Super Bowl contender. He kept Indy's title hopes alive through good times and bad, with makeshift offenses and teams dotted with Pro Bowlers. So when the only four-time MVP in league history was released by Indianapolis in March 2012, he went to Denver...

Denver Broncos advance to 6-0

When I first saw the 28-point, NFL record-tying spread the Denver Broncos were favored in the game against Jacksonville on Sunday, I thought it was outrageous, but also very plausible. So, as I am sure most of us in pick ‘em leagues did, I went with the Broncos. I, too, was not expecting a fight out of the Jaguars. Champ Bailey returns to the field Sunday (Photo Credit: Denver...

Manning plays football with a chess master's mind

Just two years removed from the neck troubles that weakened his right arm but strengthened his resolve, Peyton Manning is off to the best start by any quarterback in NFL history. He returns to Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday a much better player than the one who left Indianapolis teary-eyed in 2012 after the Colts let him go in favor of Andrew Luck. Manning has four terrific targets...

Broncos' Bailey active for first time this season

Champ Bailey is active for the first time this season, ready to provide some help for Denver's last-in-the-league pass defense when the Broncos face the Jacksonville Jaguars. The cornerback hasn't played since spraining his left foot in the second preseason game at Seattle on Aug. 17. With Bailey active, cornerback Tony Carter was a healthy scratch for the Broncos (5-0)...

Broncos lurch to 35-19 win over Jaguars

Peyton Manning threw for two scores and Knowshon Moreno ran for three to lead the Denver Broncos to a tougher-than-expected 35-19 victory Sunday over the winless Jacksonville Jaguars. The Broncos (6-0) came in as 27-point favorites, and much of the pregame hype centered on whether they'd cover the spread and when Manning would come out of the game. Neither happened. Manning...

Justin Blackmon electric, but Jaguars fall to Broncos

DENVER (AP) -- For an uncomfortably long time Sunday, it was a matter of "if" for Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, not "how many." Their supposedly lopsided matchup against the winless Jacksonville Jaguars turned into quite a tussle for much of a surreal afternoon. Not until Knowshon Moreno ran for his third touchdown did the Broncos have any sense of security...

Broncos Coach John Fox Says Jim Irsay’s Comments on Peyton Manning Were “A Bit of a Cheap Shot”

Colts owner Jim Irsay raised a few eyebrows on Tuesday with some of his comments about his former quarterback Peyton Manning’s career in Indianapolis. Speaking to USA Today’s Jarrett Bell, Irsay talked about Manning’s playoff success with the Colts, and compared it to other teams that were able to win multiple championships since 2000. “(Tom) Brady never had consistent numbers...

Monday Musings Week 6: The Value of a Coach

The numbers do not look that impressive for a defense to allow: 35 points, 5.73 yards per play, and 26 first downs. Yet, these are all below the season averages for the Denver Broncos, who have been far and away the best offense in the NFL this season. The Broncos managed to only achieve those numbers against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the worst team in the NFL. Maybe this occurred...
