DENVER -- Even with the Denver Broncos steamrolling into the playoffs behind his play, Peyton Manning can't bring himself to say he's all the way back from the neck injury that sidelined him during his final season in Indianapolis. Manning threw three touchdown passes, including two to Eric Decker, and the Broncos overwhelmed the Cleveland Browns 34-12 Sunday for their 10th consecutive victory. The Broncos (12-3) matched the second longest win streak in team history -- they also won 10 in a row in 1984. They can wrap up the No. 2 playoff seed and first-round bye that goes with it with a win at home over Kansas City in a regular-season finale next Sunday. Denver also could move up to the top seed with a win in the finale and a Texas loss. "I know you don't believe me when I say this, I'm still learning about myself physically and what I can do," said Manning, who joined Denver as free agent after a grueling rehab and his departure from Indianapolis, ...

Browns sacked by Broncos 34-12

The Broncos are a playoff team fighting for the number one seed in the conference. The Browns are a 5-10 team several pieces short of contention. These were the facts going into the game, and they certainly haven’t changed. Peyton Manning picked the Browns defense apart with his usual precision. He finished with 339 yards and  three touchdowns. He picked on Sheldon Brown early...

No surprise here: Fox says Manning is his MVP

Rarely one to talk publicly about the big picture or much beyond winning the next game, Denver coach John Fox weighed in on the interesting race for Most Valuable Player. That race could come down to Peyton Manning of the Broncos vs. old rival Tom Brady of the Patriots and Adrian Peterson of the Vikings. ''Obviously, I'm going to be a little biased,'' Fox said...

Broncos 34, Browns 12

DENVER -- Peyton Manning threw three touchdown passes, including two to Eric Decker, and the Denver Broncos kept rolling by beating the Cleveland Browns 34-12 Sunday for their 10th consecutive victory. Broncos, Manning await battered Browns

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- Preparing to play Peyton Manning was challenging enough for the Cleveland Browns even before losing three more starters. Coach Pat Shurmur said Friday that wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, tight end Jordan Cameron and defensive back Tashaun Gipson will not travel to Denver to play the Broncos (11-3). With playoff hopes dashed and a losing season assured, the Browns...

Eliminate the Suicide Week 16 – Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, Peyton Manning Nipping on your End Zone

What do Kevin Kolb, Brandon Weeden, Charlie Batch, Nick Foles, and Ryan Lindley have in common?  They are all signs that the apocalypse is coming. I kid, I kid.  They have all sent me defeats in the 2012 NFL season.  Just goes to show you that this game we call American Football is one wild and wacky creation.  I have yet to start my Christmas shopping, so to avoid buying everyone...

AFC West: Jamaal Charles Makes History, Peyton Makes Case for MVP

Santa Claus is coming to town and he's got a sack full of great statistical storylines in the AFC West: Jamaal Charles is officially the most explosive RB in NFL history; Peyton Manning is your 2012 MVP. And, heck, even the Chargers won big.

Atlanta Falcons at Detroit Lions: Week 16 NFL Pick

Atlanta Falcons (12-2) Detroit Lions (4-10) Normally I like going against huge line movements because I hate week to week overreactions. This line was Atlanta -1 last week and now it’s at -4.5, skipping over two key numbers of 3 and 4. At first glance, this appears warranted. The Lions got blown out by the crappy Cardinals in Arizona, losing 38-10, while the Falcons got a huge...

Browns' Shurmur defends decision

Though two of his star players got hurt, Browns coach Pat Shurmur defended playing his regulars late in a blowout loss in Denver. Shurmur said he was just trying to win when prized rookies Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden were injured in the second half of the 34-12 loss. ''What do we do, just stop playing?'' Shurmur said Monday. ''So you just run the...

#TheLaMorteReport NYG Short Memories @JLaMorte21

The New York Football Giants look like they once again forgot that nothing is handed to you, especially in the NFL! This time it looks to be too late, needing a win against Philly, a Cowboy loss to Wash, Green Bay to beat Minnesota, and the Bears to fall to a Lions team that cannot get out of it’s own way, just to make the playoffs. It was just last season where they were...

Weeden hurt as Browns bow to Broncos

DENVER (AP) -- First, quarterback Brandon Weeden was hurt. Then, running back Trent Richardson left the game as well.
