Michael Davis, the brother of San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis and Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis, was arrested in connection with a Thursday night assault in Washington D.C. and he could be linked to three other attacks in the same Petworth neighborhood, including the murder of a 66-year-old tourist, police told WJLA-TV on Friday. Davis' father confirmed to the television station that Michael Davis is in fact the brother of Vernon and Vontae Davis.

Tannehill's wife steals his thunder on draft night

The Miami Dolphins went ahead and reached for quarterback Ryan Tannehill with the eighth overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. About the only redeeming factor for the pick is that Tannehill has an attractive wife. Lauren Tannehill was in attendance with her husband for the draft and even seemed to tip the pick via her Twitter account: FINS ARE UP!!!!! Miami here we come!!!!!...

Police arrest DC man in hammer attack case

The younger brother of NFL players Vernon and Vontae Davis is accused of hitting a woman in the head with a hammer and police are investigating if the assault is linked to other attacks in the area, including the slaying of a man visiting from Colorado. Michael Davis, who was arrested after a foot chase Thursday night, has been charged with a count of aggravated assault, police...

Please, PLEASE have patience with Dolphins new QB, Ryan Tannehill

Last night, the Miami Dolphins took a step we’ve been waiting 29 years for.  Last night, the Dolphins selected a quarterback in the first round of the draft for the first time since 1983 when they drafted Dan Marino.  The Dolphins clearly believe that Ryan Tannehill has all of the tools to be a franchise [...]

Report: Miami looking to trade down

San Francisco 49ers Add To Arsenal With A.J. Jenkins

A surprising pick by San Francisco, as I expected the team to pick an offensive lineman or defensive player in the first round of the draft. While the team is not 100 percent solid at the wide receiver poisiition they did sign Mario Manningham, and Randy Moss in the offseason and could of drafted a receiver later in the Draft.  However in drafting A.J. Jenkins San Francisco...

Miami Dolphins select Jonathan Martin, Grade A

The Miami Dolphins filled a glaring hole at right tackle with the selection of Jonathan Martin, and it’s a great fit for both player and team. I was concerned that someone would try to force Martin into a starting role at left tackle, which would have been detrimental to his development. But the Dolphins have Jake Long entrenched on the lefet side, which means Martin will remain...

Miami Dolphins select Ryan Tannehill, the punter

Everyone knew it was coming as the Miami Dolphins selected Ryan Tennehill with the eighth overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. The next question becomes now what because Tannehill isn’t ready to start in the NFL. Maybe while Tannehill sits behind current starter Matt Moore he can handling the punting duties since he has

49ers Close Out Draft with DE/LB Cam Johnson

The 49ers used their final pick in the 2012 NFL Draft to select DE/OLB Cam Johnson out of Virginia. 6’3 268 lbs Johnson played his first two years at outside linebacker at Virginia before moving to end, although his current size doesn’t necessarily suggest positional versatility at the next level. He has solidified himself as an end in a 4-3 scheme since he excels at many things...

A Look Inside Jeff Ireland’s Draft Day Process

Joe Philbin (C) with the two guys who will fire him in 2014. Life has been pretty tough for Miami Dolphins “owner” Stephen Ross (he still hasn’t actually paid for the team) and his prized GM Jeff Ireland as of late. Well, life hasn’t been tough, because they’re both wealthy men with awesome jobs, but their reputations have taken plenty of hits in the media because of a...

With the 8th pick of the 2012 draft

The Miami Dolphins have decided to go in a new direction at the QB position.  With a young Matt Moore and a veteran David Garrad, I would of personally worked at filling other concerns.  Concerns that are in much greater need of attention.  Ryan Tannehill was a wide reciever turned QB.  Doesn’t have much experience and has many bad habits.  I think the Dolphins really should...

Trades and More Trades

The 49ers have traded the last 3 times they were to draft. Yesterday they traded their 3rd round pick for the 97th pick today. Then turned around and traded the 97th pick to Miami for their 103rd pick, 196th (6th rd) this year and a 6th round in 2013. The 49ers then turned around and traded the 103rd pick to the Panthers for their 180th pick (6th rd) and a 3rd round in 2013. All...

NFL Draft Videostat Profile: QB Brandon Weeden

Another one of our top 5 quarterbacks in the 2012 draft, Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden, 6’4 218 lbs. Positives: The leader of Oklahoma State's explosive offense, he'll need to transition from a spread offense to a pro-style offense. The transition is the same Blaine Gabbert had/has to make, but with probably better results. Weeden can make all the throws; he...

Miami Dolphins pick QB Ryan Tannehill

The Miami Dolphins look to satisfy their angry fans, picking Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill 8th overall... Positives: He's converted quarterback after playing wide receiver for the first half of his career, and was the team's leading receiver two seasons prior to becoming a quarterback. This shows his great athletic ability and how he can grasp an offense from...

NFL Draft Videostat Profile: QB Kirk Cousins

Michigan State's Kirk Cousins... Positives: Whether it is his excellent quarterbacking skills or good arm strength, there's a lot to like about Cousins as a quarterback prospect. His ability to deliver the football quickly with above average arm strength is an attractive option for NFL teams. Short and intermediate routes are his strength; he displays good accuracy...
