EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - NOVEMBER 08: Eli Manning #10 of the New York Giants looks to pass against the San Diego Chargers on November 8, 2009 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. (Photo by Chris McGrath/Getty Images)
With Father’s Day coming up we get to take a look at one of the famous father and son combos in all of the NFL. Archie Manning has three sons, Cooper, Peyton, and Eli. All three sons did follow their father’s footsteps in playing football at some point in their lives. This week we found out from Eli how back in the day Archie would have their kids handle a disagreement. It was by boxing. If his kids were fighting he would have them put on the gloves and warm up before they would duke it out. Archie’s version of warming up was hitting the boxing bag for three minutes. At that time Eli explains that they would be so tired that they would be just flopping their arms when it came time to box. First off why have we never heard of this before? Two are there any old family videos of these hilarious boxing moments? This story came up when Eli was working with Dick’s Sporting Goods for their “Greatest Gift” promotion. Eli and other athletes share some fun and entertaining stories about their dads from back in the day. Here is the video of Eli talking about his memories of Archie growing up and how he will spend this Father’s Day.
