This was one play that C.C. Brown read perfectly.
The Giants’ much-maligned safety said he had a feeling Tom Coughlin was pondering a switch in the starting lineup. He knew it from the moment the Giants’ 40-17 loss in Philadelphia was over.
“I mean, I pretty much knew after the game there was going to be a switch somewhere,” he said. “In this business if you’re not on your ‘A game’ all the time things like this are going to happen. The only thing I can do is keep pushing forward and try to get better.”
Brown was clearly not thrilled with Coughlin’s decision to demote him to the second team in favor of Aaron Rouse. That hadn’t happened since early in his rookie season with Houston (2005) when he was demoted for two games. Other than that stretch he’s been a starter during his entire four-and-a-half year career.
