TEAMS: Cleveland Browns
Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor has been activated from the physically-unable-to-perform list and will play Sunday against Baltimore.
Taylor missed Cleveland's first eight games after undergoing surgery on a torn chest muscle he hurt lifting weights in May. The 335-pounder practiced all week and coach Pat Shurmur said Friday that Taylor's ''ready to go'' against the Ravens. Taylor's return will help offset the loss of underrated tackle Ahtyba Rubin, who will miss his second game in a row with a calf injury.
Taylor made 16 starts as a rookie in 2011, making 59 tackles and four sacks.
Also, the Browns signed defensive lineman Ronnie Cameron to the active roster from the practice squad.
Wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi practiced all week and will likely play Sunday. He has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury.

Hey You Colt McCoy Haters Including You Denny Dice, The NFL Trade Deadline Passes & McCoy Still In Cleveland
The 2012 N.F.L. Trade deadline has passed and the man who the Browns blamed for all their problems in 2011 is still a member of the Cleveland Browns. There were lots of people who said McCoy would be traded by the Browns, how stupid is that statement? The Browns know better than to trade Colt McCoy, they would be left without a viable back-up quarterback that give the Browns a shot...
The Browns won a game last week, don't get use to it. Week 9 preview.
Browns fans are trying to convince me that I was wrong to say they were going to win 0-2 games. The fact is, this is not a good team. Maybe they win 5 games, it doesn't matter. They don't have enough talent on this roster to make a playoff run anytime in the future.
Denver at Cincinnati - The Boncos and Peyton Manning have things rolling now on both sides...
Joe Haden: Browns have closed gap within AFC North
We definitely feel like [we've closed the gap within the AFC North]. We feel like we were in the division [games], but we were just a couple plays off. Now that we’ve beat Cincinnati and we’re coming off of this last week’s win, we just feel like there’s no reason why we can’t keep these wins coming. They’re a beatable team, they’re really talented though not to...
Browns To Face A Beat Up Worn Out Ravens Defense Browns Getting Just 3-1/2 Points
The Cleveland Browns come into the Baltimore Ravens game getting just 3-1/2 points from the odds makers. The Browns are getting some respect from the odds makers even though the team only has 2 wins on the season. The Cleveland Browns have lost to the Baltimore Ravens since they returned to the NFL in 1999. The Browns are very optimistic about their chances of a win this Sunday against...
Thursday Night Football: safe for the players?
Being a woman of the generation when girls were only permitted to play touch football if their male friends invited them to be on the team, I've never played tackle football. I can only imagine the pain the players must feel after a 60-minute game of hits that are rougher than some car accidents.
As a nurse, I know all that hitting produces intense inflammation, and with it...
Hurricane Sandy Unearths 15-Year-Old Cleveland Stadium Rubble From Lake Eerie
15 Years ago, the dilapidated Cleveland Stadium -- former home of the Browns and Indians -- was demolished. Though Cleveland was without a football team for a bit, it's since been replaced by Progressive Field and Cleveland Browns Stadium -- shiny new-age facilities featuring all the amenities you'd expect.
After the demolition, pieces of the stadium were...
Hurricane Sandy Caused Pieces of Cleveland Municipal Stadium to Wash Ashore
Hurricane Sandy may have crippled the Eastern Seaboard, but it looks like Cleveland had to deal with an odd situation caused by the "superstorm".
Sandy caused bits and pieces of the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium to be thrown out of Lake Erie and wash ashore in nearby Bratenahl, Ohio.
Why was the wreckage of the stadium in Lake Erie you ask? Simple. When the former...
Browns' Weeden learning on the fly
BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- Brandon Weeden had his trigger finger ready.
While relaxing at home Tuesday night, Cleveland's rookie quarterback was reviewing the Sept. 27 game against Baltimore on his iPad when he came to that fateful moment in the third quarter.
With the Browns trailing just 16-10 and driving for a potential go-ahead touchdown, Weeden hung a third-down pass toward the...
Can The Cleveland Browns Expect A Wide Open Josh Gordon Against Baltimore?
Ravens. Some Browns fans think the Ravens defense is old and slowing down. The fact is they are coming off one of the teams biggest losses of the season. I look for Ed Reed the Ravens safety to have a few things to say about Gordon running down the middle of the field wide open. Reed may even bait Brandon Weeden into some bad decisions. The Browns were on the look out for Reed in...
INSIDE THE CLOSET OF “NFL FASHION PLATE” JOSH CRIBBS
Showcasing personal style on the gridiron is not an option for NFL players. Even a slight alteration to their team uniform, such as a cleat color change, can result in a football fashion-related fine. Off-the-field, players have free reign when it comes to their sartorial decisions. In the NFL, the competition extends off-the-field as guys vie for best-dressed honors. Cleveland...
Talking talking talking (and talking some more) about the Ravens
Not in a long time can I remember this much talk between teams heading into a game as there has been leading up to this Sunday’s match-up between the Browns and Ravens. Trent Richardson is going to exchange jerseys with Ray Rice. The Browns think they’re a different team than the one that lost on Thursday night. Trent Richardson is the hardest player to tackle in the league according...
