Found February 11, 2013 on NFL Trade Rumors:
According to Jason La Canfora, the Cleveland Browns new front office “badly wants to upgrade from former first-round pick Brandon Weeden.“ La Canfora mentions that Alex Smith could be in play for the Browns. Michael Vick was also listed as a speculative option for Cleveland, but he restructured his deal to remain with the Eagles earlier this morning. The Browns new coaching staff has said that they are excited to work with Weeden, but there’s a good chance that they were just posturing when they mentioned that. With Vick out of the picture, many see Alex Smith as the next best option for teams that are in need of a quarterback, but you have to wonder whether Smith would be the best fit for Browns offensive system. There’s been a lot made about Smith’s lack of arm strength and inability to be effective throwing the ball deep, and Norv Turner’s offense relies heavily on this. This figures to be one of the more interesting offseason topics to watch.   The post Browns “Badly” Want To U...

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is committed to win: “we're going to do whatever it takes to win.''

The Cleveland Browns got a much need shot in the arm when new owner Jimmy Haslam bought the organization. Haslam didn’t spend $1 billion as a majority owner to lose football games. Colts Targeting Offensive Tackles In Free Agency?

NFL Rumor: Browns listed as prime candidate to steal Flacco from Ravens

The Cleveland Browns could conceivably roll into Year One of the Joe Banner experiment with Brandon Weeden at the helm. They could bring in a cagey veteran to give Weeden a bit of a challenge for the starting spot. They could also try to acquire a questionable cast-aside starter in San Francisco’s Alex Smith. Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, however, things the Browns could...

The Curious Case of Jason La Canfora’s Disappearing Tweets

There was great volume of high-pitched conversation about the Capitals taking place late last Thursday night, near the end of the Penguins’ 5-2 seal-clubbing of the Caps, and the most intriguing of it emanated from the Twitter feed of former Washington Post and Capitals reporter Jason La Canfora. La Canfora, who covers the NFL today, spent 10 years at the Post, on the Skins beat...

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports writes that even though Percy Harvin is a legitimate difference maker, the Minnesota Vikings are unlikely to get “fair value” in return for him. La Canfora mentions that talks between the Vikings and Harvin have gone “pretty much nowhere” and he would be surprised to see any “monumental breakthroughs” when they meet at next week’s Scouting...

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, with the Oakland Raiders currently $12 million over the 2013 salary cap, they could end up releasing both wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey and linebacker Rolando McClain. Heyward-Bey is scheduled to make over $7 million in 2013, while McClain is set to earn over $4 million. I could see the Raiders dumping McClain because of his off the...
