Failed Marijuana tests before entering the NFL and a 2-game PED suspension is enough for the Cleveland Browns to keep an close eye on 2nd year receiver Josh Gordon.
CEO Joe Banner says Gordon knows full well that he's basically running out of chances, and one slip up may very well cost him his status with the team.
“He spent a fair amount of time talking to [head coach Rob Chudzinski] and he’s got to do some work and he understands he’s going to be held accountable and he gets (that) the rope that’s left isn’t long,” Banner said, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “In working with the coaches, they need to see that commitment, that work ethic. Obviously, off the field he needs to make good choices.”
The ball looks to be in Gordon's court as to what he makes of his NFL career. He's able to join his team in training camp and the preseason, but will have to skip the first two games. From game three on, he'll be a closely watched man.
