Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs doesn't remember much about the vicious hit that knocked him unconscious last week against Baltimore. Cribbs was cleared to practice Wednesday by team doctors for the first time since the hit that flattened him on a kickoff return in Thursday night's loss to the Ravens. Cribbs said that despite being out cold that he wanted to go back in the game, but the Browns took his helmet away. Cribbs has only watched one replay of the hit. He said he's not afraid of being tackled and ''loves giving hits. I'm just not scared.'' Cribbs received messages from players all over the NFL following the hit that sent his helmet flying and brought players on both teams to the middle of the field in prayer.

Phil Taylor eager to get back but “won’t push it”

One of the nicer stories in an otherwise disappointing year so far for the Browns has been the defensive line. Much-maligned John Hughes and surprising late-rounder Billy Winn have been surprisingly good filling in for Phil Taylor. While it is a nice story, there’s no doubt that it would be an even better one if they were coming in to spell Taylor rather than filling in for him...

Josh Cribbs says his family doesn’t want him playing football anymore

After watching getting knocked out of last week’s game against the Ravens, Cleveland Browns kick returner Josh Cribbs says his family doesn’t want him playing football anymore. “Everyone was calling and couldn’t stop crying,” said Cribbs, per the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, who has two young children. “My brother, who’s the reason why I’m playing football, even he wants...

“Cleveland ’95: A Football Life” will be mandatory viewing for me

I’ve read countless tweets from Browns fans saying they won’t watch this documentary about the 1995 Cleveland Browns. Tony Grossi wrote about it and likened it to reliving a family member’s funeral. While those scenes depicting the stadium being torn apart might cause me to shed a few tears, after seeing the sneak preview, I think I’ll have to watch it because there is so...

The Last Thing The Browns Defense Needed Was An Injury To T.J. Ward Who Underwent Surgery

Well Browns safety T.J. Ward end up being a giant disappointment to the Cleveland Browns? Ward who hard surgery to his hand will miss some time, this is the last thing the Browns already weakened secondary needed secondary due to the Joe Haden suspension. Browns Owner, Jimmy Haslam III, Not Planning Immediate Changes

Cleveland Browns incoming owner, Jimmy Haslam III, has stated that he doesn't plan on making any immediate changes once the sale of the team is final. This comes after weeks of speculation that he will immediately replace team President Mike Holmgren with rumored part owner, Joe Banner. Additionally, given the Browns 0-4 start and 10 game (and counting) losing streak dating...

Browns coach says Trent Richardson has a nose for the endzone

The Akron-Beacon Journal had an interview with Cleveland Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur who said that Trent Richardson has a nose for finding the end zone. Richardson has scored four touchdowns in his first four NFL games. “Some guys have it, and some guys don’t,” Shurmur said. “There are running backs that can get you up and down the field, and then there are other ones when...

New Browns owner not planning immediate changes

Jimmy Haslam III won't spend his first days as owner of the Browns handing out pink slips. Haslam, whose $1 billion purchase of Cleveland's franchise is expected to be approved by NFL owners later this month, said Thursday through a team spokesman that he has no plans to make any personnel changes ''until after the year.'' At 0-4, the Browns are the only...

Pat Shurmur Survival Guide

Beyond some miraculous, mythological football heaven intervention, it doesn’t appear that the Browns’ current losing streak will reverse itself any time soon.

Cleveland Browns (0-4) at New York Giants (2-2)

Cleveland Browns (0-4) at New York Giants (2-2) In my weekly Power Rankings, I had the Browns in last for the 3rd straight week, but I didn’t feel comfortable about. Yes, the Browns are one of two remaining 0-4 teams and compared to the other one, New Orleans, they’re much less likely to turn things around. They’re the only 0-4 team that isn’t really a surprise. Everyone...

Browns Coach Pat Shurmur Says He Expects Challenge From Eli Manning & The Giants He Needs A Drug Test!!!

Shurmur says he expects a challenge from the New York Giants and their quarterback Eli Manning. A Challenge? Really, is Shurmur for real? The New York Giants out class the Cleveland Browns by a mile or two. The Browns will do great to be able to hang with the Giants in this game. This isn’t going to be the worn out Ravens, this is the defending World Champion New York Giants with...

Another Giants receiver could be out against Browns

Earlier in the week we talked about the likelihood of Hakeem Nicks suiting up for the Giants. Now his replacement, Ramses Barden, might be doubtful too with a concussion. “He complained of a headache and asked if he could be evaluated,” Coughlin said, via the team. “They sent him for the evaluation yesterday. I think a lot of the symptoms were okay, but there was enough there...
