Browns coach Pat Shurmur says there ''are no ugly'' victories and senses more growth in his young team.
Playing in atrocious weather conditions, the Browns did just enough to beat the San Diego Chargers 7-6 on Sunday for their second straight home win. Shurmur was pleased with how his team handled the wind, rain and cold.
Shurmur acknowledged that ''it wasn't pretty, it wasn't perfect, but it's something we can build on.'' Shurmur was going to give his players the day off on Monday, but the Browns declined the offer and came to work to begin preparation for Sunday's game against Baltimore.
Tight end Alex Smith believes the Browns are on the cusp of stringing wins together. Smith said owner Jimmy Haslam's postgame message to the team to ''get greedy for wins'' was well received.
