Cleveland Browns defense end Desmond Bryant could be out for season opener. Bryant ended up having surgery on his injured wrist earlier this last Monday, reported Cleveland beat writer Mary Kay Cabot.Coach Mike Pettine could not comment on a timeline for Brian's recovery, but it's looking like he might miss the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pettine went on to say that his status will be re-evaluated in a couple weeks but that Bryant will not be placed on IR.Bryant played in the preseason opener against the Lions, but sat out in the Monday night game against the Redskins. He ended up missing the last four games of last season due to heart surgery in order to repair an irregular heartbeat. He racked up 31 total tackles and three and a half sacks in the 12 games that he started in 2013.The Browns are lucky to have depth at the defensive line position with players like Phil Taylor, Ahtyba Rubin, and Armonty Bryant, who has had a very good preseason so far. With Desmond Bryant possibly out in week 1 Cleveland will more than likely shift in and out multiple players on their D-line based on situation. The Browns defense shouldn’t suffer too much.Like what you're reading?
