Shatter The Backboard:
Given that he’s 21 years old and hadn’t played since 2010, it was reasonable to expect Cleveland Browns rookie receiver Josh Gordon to take some time to get acclimated. Going over Nnamdi Asomugha for a 28-yard reception against the Eagles the other night was another sign the Browns receiver is learning quicker than anyone expected. [...]

Weeden caught under flag during pregame
So far, this is our favorite moment of NFL opening Sunday.
Watch Browns rookie QB Brandon Weeden – making his first pro start, and clearly still adjusting to the NFL stage – get caught under the American flag during today’s Browns-Eagles pre-game ceremonies:
(via mocksession.com)
As SBNation points out, Weeden is clearly a patriot, and has draped himself in the stars and...
Cleveland Browns Week 1 thoughts
Follow @ClevelandDTR
By: Eric Grinnell
Week 1 of the Cleveland Browns 2012 season is officially in the books. I’ll get into specifics below, but I think the quick summary of the game is that this was one of the most impressive defensive performances by the Browns since the return, but conversely, one of the poorest offensive performances.
1. Let’s start with the good...

Noted America Enthusiast Brandon Weeden Gets Trapped Under American Flag Before Game (Video)
Brandon Weeden will always remember his first career NFL start, but not for good reasons. The 28-year-old rookie quarterback had a rough debut for the Browns, completing a little more than a third of his passes in a Cleveland loss to the Eagles. Weeden completed just 12 of 35 passes for 118 yards with a whopping four interceptions in the 19-16 defeat. If Weeden had been even just...
Browns Fans: Did That Really Happen?
So it's Saturday afternoon and I happen to see a commercial for the Cleveland Browns. So as I'm getting excited for the season opener I proceed to hit up Stub Hub and snag some tickets to the game. It was the 3rd year in a row I've been to the home opener for the Browns. It's becoming a tradition for my brother and me. Thinking on the way there that there is no way...
Trent Richardson trucks Kurt Coleman, sends helmet flying
In Sunday's Eagles-Browns game, Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson absolutely demolished Eagles safety Kurt Coleman. Richardson lowered his head and smashed it directly into Coleman's head, sending the defensive back's helmet flying as Richardson picked up nine yards on the play. He'd be stopped behind the line on the next play, and the Browns would...
Browns LB Scott Fujita Won't Play Vs Eagles Despite Not Being Among Inactives
Browns linebacker Scott Fujita will not play against the Philadelphia Eagles in the season opener, the team announced. He is not on the inactive list, but will not see the field.
Fujita missed the final three preseason games due to a lower left leg injury sustained in the preseason opener against the Lions. The Plain Dealer reported that he was not at the Browns facility all week...
Eagles 17, Browns 16
CLEVELAND -- Michael Vick threw four interceptions Sunday, but it was his touchdown pass in the final minute of the game that saved the Eagles from a Week 1 upset at the hands of the Browns. Vick capped a 91-yard, 16-play drive with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Clay Harbor with 1:18 left to rally the Eagles past the Browns, 17-16. The Browns have lost 13 of 14 season openers since...
Cleveland fans need to give Weeden a season
That did not take long.
Odds are, this did not turn out well.
One day into Brandon Weeden's pro career
and half the Cleveland
fanbase is ready to high-side him for a quarterback known for his toughness and
numbing mediocrity.
There's no question Weeden's performance yesterday was brutally bad.
Either the coaching staff did not prepare him...
Browns-Eagles preview
“They’re schemed to rush the passer,” Browns head coach Pat Shurmur said. “You just look at the way they’re lined up, wide-nine techniques, they crowd the ball and they get after you.
A Disturbing Trend Continues
“A first game loss is only fatal if we let it be,” Browns coach Pat Shurmur said on Monday. “That’s it. That’s the story. There are no moral victories."
