Found October 23, 2012 on NFL Draft Zone:
Credit the Browns with taking the risk in the supplementary draft sticking their neck out for a problematic player like Josh Gordon. No one ever questioned his physical ability on the football field, it was the luggage that he brings with the off the field issues. After seven weeks in the 2012 year, the Browns look to have an exciting core of offensive players after extensive criticism duing the first round on  draft night. They knew what they were doing with both of their first round picks: taking the injury-prone back in Trent Richardson and the 28 year-old quarterback, Brandon Weeden to take the lead. Every week I am becoming more and more impressed with Weeden as he is showing off his maturity in the pocket compared to his poor start. The Browns have a young, impressive core and Gordon could lock down the number one wideout spot in Cleveland if he cleans up his drops. Look for the Gordon-Weeden connection for games to come.

The Browns New Owner Has To Sit Trent Richardson To Heal If He Expects To Get His Monies Worth

Since the Browns head coach doesn’t have the mental capacity to make the determination about Trent Richardson’s health it is time for the Browns new owner to step in and force Shurmur to sit T-Rich until he is healthy enough to come back strong. The Cleveland Browns have a very able running back in Montario Hardesty who could step in without even missing a beat. Hardesty has...

Grossi: Holmgren did “absolute minimum” while in Cleveland

It takes a serious blow for anyone on a team with the best left tackle in the game to be blindsided by any play, but when Randy Lerner decided to sell the majority portion of the Cleveland Browns back in June, team president Mike Holmgren found himself face down with a mask full of field turf. ESPNCleveland’s Tony Grossi’s latest discusses the man who was brought in to fix the...

Transcript: Mike Holmgren’s Farewell Press Conference

We don’t post all press conferences, but this one signaling the end of the Mike Holmgren era seemed worth adding to the site. Or, you can skip it and read Scott’s artful take on it. (Opening statement) – “I’d like to start off by thanking Randy Lerner, first of all, for giving me the opportunity to come to Cleveland. My year off when he came to visit me in Arizona, he...

Trent Richardson To Be Evaluated Week-to-Week

Cleveland running back Trent Richardson (ribs) will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, Browns coach Mike Shurmur said according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Shurmur pulled Richardson Sunday after just eight carries but didn't give a definitive reason other than saying, "There were some things happening out there where we weren't having efficiency running the football...

Trent Richardson Injury: Browns RB Benched

While Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson was able to start Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, the rookie was eventually removed from the game by coach Pat Shurmur, reports Kareem Copeland of NFL.com. "We just kind of didn't feel like he could play as effective as he'd been," Shurmur said. "He wanted to play." ...

Browns Lose….But Weeden Improves

Lost in all of the Pat Shurmur play-calling bashing, questions about the health of Trent Richardson, the special teams disaster, the extra point gaff by Reggie Hodges, and of course the big drop by Josh Gordon was the stellar play of rookie QB Brandon Weeden. Remember back after the 17-16 season-opening loss to Philadelphia, half of the city was already done with Weeden? The Colt...

Season over for Browns LB Fujita

Browns starting linebacker Scott Fujita will be placed on injured reserve with a neck injury, ending his stormy season - and perhaps his football career.

Cleveland Browns: Week 8 NFL Power Rankings (#29)

Last week: 31 (+2) Record: 1-6 Despite their loss, the Browns move up. Last week, I mentioned I consdered putting the Browns ahead of the rest of the 1 win teams and some of the 2 win teams because they’ve been competitive in every game despite their record (worst in the league at 1-6). This [...]

Indystar Colts Insider: A few big plays the difference in Indy's win over Browns

The Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell, on the ball as usual, says the difference in this game came down to a few big plays.  The Colts struggled (I've almost reached some kind of overuse threshold on that word this season) for long stretches in this game.  However, they kept coming up with one more big play to keep their hopes alive against the feisty Browns.  Chappell...

A few injuries this week so you can get down on some waiver pick-ups! —- Down goes MJD —- Rashad Jennings - RB Jags: And down goes MJD. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist for this pick-up. With 102 yards and a td last week with 28 carries. He is in for the next few weeks and that’s all that matters. At Green Bay this week. —- The return to the waiver wire pick-up —...

Dunlevy: Browns vs. Colts: Luck, Defense Lift Indianapolis Back to .500

Over at Bleacher Report, Nate Dunlevy recapitulated the Colts' win over the Browns with his observations and even some highlight videos.  Nate saw it the way many fans familiar with the team saw it: Following a similar formula to previous encounters with the Vikings and Jaguars, the Colts jumped out to a comfortable halftime lead, and then hung on for dear life. With just...
