PLAYERS: Colt McCoy
TEAMS: Cleveland Browns
After listening to today’s press conference held by the Cleveland Browns, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer believes they might be willing to go with Colt McCoy as their starting quarterback in 2012. I’m not against the Browns going with McCoy, but I believe they need to at least bring in a viable quarterback that he can compete with in the preseason, whether it’s a rookie or a free agent.

Holmgren on Browns’ offer to Rams: “I’m not sure any offer was going to be good enough”

Mike Holmgren and Tom Heckert spoke with season ticket holders earlier today on a conference call (which is now available to listen to on the team’s website) about free agency and the upcoming draft. In that call, Holmgren addressed the Rams trade with Washington and why the Browns didn’t make the move. “What we offered for the pick was every bit the offer that was chosen...

People are wondering what the Cleveland Browns are up to with the release of Offensive lineman Eric Steinbach. What the fans don’t realize is Steinbach asked the Browns for his release. The Browns are not the big bad organization the people are thinking they are right now. Steinbach his agent and the Cleveland Browns have been in talks since February trying to come up with a resolution...

Browns release veteran G Eric Steinbach

The Cleveland Browns have released guard Eric Steinbach, who missed last season following back surgery. Steinbach underwent an operation to fix a back disc in August and sat out his fifth season with Cleveland. He was scheduled to make $6 million in 2012. His release will give the Browns more room under the salary cap. They opened free agency about $17 million under the cap. The...

Browns sign free-agent DE Rucker to a contract

Frostee Rucker may be switching teams, but he's not leaving the AFC North. The Cleveland Browns signed the free-agent defensive end to a contract, but did not disclose the terms. Rucker played his first five NFL seasons with the rival Cincinnati Bengals. "Frostee is a player that we targeted in free agency, and we couldn't be happier that he chose to become a member...

Browns' fans feel a draft, and shiver

If there's one thing Browns' fans have learned during this free agency period, it's that you can't call GM Tom Heckert a liar. Heckert said last week that the franchise would not make a big splash in the market. The NFL's high-priced free agent bazaar opened on Tuesday at 4 p.m., and true to their word, the Browns weren't waiting to rush inside with checkbook...

Browns sign two players

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cleveland Browns have re-signed offensive lineman Oniel Cousins and tight end Alex Smith. Cousins made one start at right tackle last season after the Browns were awarded him off waivers from Baltimore. He has made five career starts and played in 30 games. Cousins gives the Browns offensive line depth after the team released right tackle Tony Pashos, who recently...

Browns RB Peyton Hillis Entertaining Offer From Chiefs

Free Agency, Browns running back is entertaining an offer from the Kansas City Chiefs. Hillis has said he wanted to return to the Browns, many think the offer the Browns put on the table last summer is the offer Hillis should have taken. I say it will be interesting to see if Hillis remains in Cleveland. I’ll bet the head coach of the Chiefs really wants to add Hillis to the Chiefs...

Browns Need To Stay The Course….(And Tank 2012)

What I am going to say right now will not a popular sentiment at all in this town. But the reality of the situation is, I want what is best for the organization LONG TERM. So stay with me here. Between local sports talk radio, Twitter, newspapers, and blogs, all of the talk in Cleveland has centered around the Browns not doing anything in Free agency (other than the signing of ...

The Cleveland Browns stood by and watched as Mike “Pops” Adams signs with the Denver Broncos. The Cleveland Fans have seen two players leave Cleveland in the past two days through free agency. Mike Adams is the one who will be missed the most, he was a very productive part of the Cleveland Browns pass defense that finished the season ranked second in the NFL, with that being...

Hot News for OG Eric Steinbach

In One Fan’s Opinion

I’ve been reading lots of negative comments about what is going on with the Cleveland Browns. And all these comments are from so-called fans! Huh? Wait a minute! We are die-hardiest fans in the world. We love our Browns and you’re ready to hang Tom Heckert and Mike Holmgren because he’s not doing business the way YOU would? Well who the f*** ever said YOU could run a team?...

Hillis gone to Chiefs, good riddance

Hillis has run for greener pastures One year ago at this time, I would have said there was a .005% chance of me ever writing the headline (and certainly not in one year’s time), “Hillis gone to Chiefs, good riddance.”  Yet, here we are on the eve of March Madness, and that thought is the first and only thing that comes to mind upon reading Espn’s report that Hillis agreed...
