No big surprises here. The Browns are going to host visits from all the front-runners for the fourth pick in the NFL draft including Justin Blackmon, Morris Claiborne and Trent Richardson according to Mary Kay Cabot.
As I was saying yesterday, the Browns haven’t really made any kinds of definitive statements about Colt McCoy regardless of the number of times that Heckert, Shurmur and Holmgren have claimed they are looking forward to seeing his progress this season.
The proof is provided by the fact that the Browns will be welcoming Ryan Tannehill for a visit and now are also reportedly set to visit with Kirk Cousins and Brandon Weeden.

Tom Heckert: “focus was re-signing our own players.”
Tom Heckert would argue that he’s been active in free agency this year. Namely, he would say he has been active in keeping key Browns players from leaving Berea via free agency.
“Trust me, I completely understand the fans are saying, ‘Why aren’t we going out and signing all of these free agents?’” Heckert said. “But when you talk about D’Qwell Jackson, Joe Thomas...
Mike Mayock is right about Ryan Tannehill and the Browns… sort of
The comments to our headline post about Mike Mayock’s opinion of Ryan Tannehill turned out to be a discussion of what it means for something to be newsworthy. In the case of Mike Mayock’s opinion, as someone who has invested pretty heavily in the Browns, I would rather know it than not know it. That doesn’t mean I believe it all, but it is an important part of the equation...
Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, starter or just a smokescreen?
The Cleveland Browns administration has thrown their support behind Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, a support that without a doubt is welcomed by the young and often times struggling quarterback. These endorsements of McCoy would lead one to believe that Browns president Mike Holmgren along with GM Tom Heckert agree that Colt is a capable quarterback and will remain the starter in...
One Cleveland Brown is determined to get better
AVON -- Amidst all the offseason chatter and wondering about the Cleveland Browns, one player quietly goes about his business, with a very simple goal.I think, said guard Jason Pinkston, that I can be a ton better.Hes not just talking about it, either. Pinkston is spending his offseason in Cleveland training at the O-Line Academy run by former Brown (briefly), Saint and Ohio State...
Madden 13 – Browns fans win as Haden falls to Rodgers
With apologies to Joe Haden who deserves plenty of praise, recognition and kudos for his actions on and off the field as a Cleveland Brown, today is a good day. Regardless of whether you believe in curses or not, it doesn’t make any sense to play with something like that two years in a row. As I’ve said all along, last year had little to do with Peyton Hillis and everything to...

Bradford
The Cleveland Browns may be in talks with the Rams to acquire Sam Bradford the injury rattled second year Rams Quarterback. Browns may take Brandon Weeden with the 22nd pick
Earlier in the day we mentioned that the Cleveland Browns along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are really interested in running back Trent Richardson.
According to TheSidelineView.com, one league source said to “put Brandon Weeden at 22 to Cleveland and keep him there.”
This is a good indication that the Browns could end up taking a quarterback late in the first round, rather...
Browns Set Pre-Draft Visit With Michigan St QB Kirk Cousins
Add another name to the Cleveland Browns' list of potential 2012 quarterbacks: Michigan State's Kirk Cousins. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cousins will be among the 30 college prospects who will meet with team officials. Cousins, who is 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, finished as Michigan State's career leader in touchdown passes (66), passing yards (9,131), completions...
Cleveland Browns Asked Rams About Sam Bradford
New Rams coach, Jeff Fisher, told the media that several teams asked about trading for Sam Bradford. One of those teams might have been the Cleveland Browns. ESPN Cleveland found out they actually were among the teams interested in the former No. 1 overall pick in 2010. Instead, they ended up trying to trade for the team's No. 2 pick instead to go after Robert Griffin III...
Cleveland Browns commit to Colt McCoy at the NFL owners meeting
The general manager for the Cleveland Browns Tom Heckert started the support yesterday telling the media the Browns "are fine with Colt McCoy as our quarterback." The PR build up of Colt McCoy continued yesterday on Cleveland Browns radio show when Mike Holmgren told Vic Carucci he recently called Colt to offer support and clear up the media speculation about the Browns...
Browns looked into trading for Sam Bradford
After failing to acquire the No. 2 overall pick from the Rams, presumably to draft Robert Griffin III, the Browns again struck out on landing another signal-caller, one who’s particularly dear to coach Pat Shurmur.
Sources tell ESPNCleveland.com the Browns, before making at a run at RGIII, inquired about a trade for Sam Bradford.
At the NFL meetings Wednesday, Rams head coach Jeff...
Browns moving forward with Colt McCoy
A few weeks ago, news broke that the St. Louis Rams and the Washington Redskins agreed to terms on a trade that would send the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft to the Redskins. Shortly after hearing that, Browns president Mike Holmgren released a statement on the trade saying it was unfair and unjust because of the relationship that the Redskins staff had with the Rams staff...

Browns To Visit With QB Ryan Tannehill Despite Backing Colt McCoy
The Cleveland Browns are planning to move forward with Colt McCoy as their starting quarterback. But that might not keep them from spending an early draft pick on a signal-caller in the 2012 NFL Draft. Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill is one of the 30 players who will visit with the Browns before the draft, a league source told The Plain Dealer. The Browns attempted to acquire...
NFL Draft 2012: Should Cleveland Browns Draft Justin Blackmon or Trent Richardson with No. 4 Pick?
The 2012 NFL Draft is just around one month away, and the Cleveland Browns currently possess the No. 4 overall pick. While there remains the possibility that they could trade that pick and move down in order to stockpile more picks later in this year’s draft as well as next year, it appears as if the Browns would be wise to hold onto this selection. But which route...
