The two game suspension of Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Brown will leave a gaping hole at hideout for the start of the season. The good news is the draft day trade for former Miami Dolphins slot receiver Davone Bess may pay big dividends early. Bess is the most experienced receiver the Browns have on the roster and though he's a slot receiver, he has played on the outside effectively for the Dolphins. He will help take the pressure off Greg Little and David Nelson has experience playing in the slot while in Buffalo. According to Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland, he feels Bess is the best bet to take Gordon's place. Grossi writes: 'If everyone’s healthy, I see more playing time for David Nelson and Travis Benjamin during Gordon’s two game suspension. I suspect the starters would be Greg Little and Davone Bess.'

Michael Irvin: Browns’ Joe Thomas is a “fat guy” who doesn’t impact game (Video)

In an arbitrary segment rife with arbitrary individuals, former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin referred to Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas as a “fat guy” who doesn’t impact a game in the way others on a list (provided by NFL Network) do. Turn up your volume a bit and take a listen for yourself. The whole segment seems to be of the “embrace debate” culture...

Greg Little says he won’t wear thigh and knee pads despite new rule

Count Cleveland Browns wide receiver Greg Little among those not enamored with the NFL’s new rule that requires all players, save for punters and kickers, to wear thigh and knee pads. Since 1994 players have had the option of wearing the somewhat cumbersome pads, with many NFLers choosing not to wear them, saying the leg protection is uncomfortable and slows them down. Little,...

TE Jordan Cameron says his mindset is that he will be the starter

Tight end Jordan Cameron worked hard every day of the 10 week offseason program and the eight practices of on-field work, learning the new system of offensive coordinator Norv Turner and the possibility of winning the role as the starter. Cameron was selected by the Browns with the 102nd pick in the 2011 NFL Draft in hope of being their starting tight end of the future and his...

Pluto: Joe Banner Saving Cap Room For Upcoming Extensions

In his weekly Sunday column, The Plain Dealer’s Terry Pluto indicates that CEO Joe Banner is looking for his team to use some of the cap room that they’ve saved. When Joe Banner ran the business side of the Eagles, he liked to sign players before they reached free agency. Part of the reason the Browns have about $30 million left on the salary cap is they want to sign some of...

The Bon Jovi concert scheduled to kick off the Browns’ season at FirstEnergy Stadium has been canceled, per Cleveland’s NewsNet5. If we know anything about the 2013 Cleveland Browns, it’s that the coaching will be very good on both sides of the ball

And how do we know this? We just do. Hey, Mary Kay: I have been a Browns fan for well over 30 years. This year I still have that sinking they will be terrible again. Do you have the same feeling, or have I been trained to think that way? — Kevin Sandy, Navarre, Ohio Hey Kevin: I have to disagree with you. I don’t think they’ll be terrible. I think they’re very strong at some...

Cleveland Twitterverse comes up with the #BonJoviReplacement

When the going gets tough, the Cleveland Twitterverse helps the Browns replace Bon Jovi to help kick off the 2013 NFL season. Will the concert be cancelled for good? Will an alternate act be brought in to help sell it? Don’t say that we aren’t doing our part to help. Oh and it’s probably not possible, but if I had to choose a band that I’d go see and could fill up a stadium...

Video: Michael Irvin bashes Joe Thomas and all other offensive linemen

Michael Irvin went so far as to call Browns' star OL Joe Thomas nothing more than a "fat guy whose job it is is to stand in front of another fat guy for three seconds."

Bon Jovi and the Cleveland Browns Seriously Anger Fans

Cleveland Browns fans were excited to Fan Fest this year; not because the team is expected to actually be competitive for once. No, the excitement really had nothing at all to do with football or the Browns. It was for the Fan Kickoff Concert featuring legendary rock band Bon Jovi. Go ahead. Squeal like a little school girl now. If I lived in Cleveland I know I would have. ...
