The Browns released veteran tight end Steve Heiden, the club announced. Heiden, coming off surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered at the end of the 2008 season, caught only 10 passes last season for 73 yards and one touchdown in 2009. He suffered an ankle injury Nov. 16 against Baltimore and was placed on injured reserve, missing the final seven games of the season.
