Barkevious Mingo was drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft ad is expected to contend for an outside linebacker job.
As the Browns move to a revamped 3-4, Mingo is a key piece in Ray Horton’s attacking style defense.
In 2012, he played in all 13 games with 10 starts, and earned second team All-SEC honors after recording 38 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, and 4.5 quarterback sacks.
He also led the Tigers with 12 quarterback hurries. The Browns are hoping to get similar production from him at the NFL level.
Mingo feels he’s learning the system and developing at a good rate, but he’s not worrying about it.
“I think I’m doing a great job at it, learning the coverages, responsibilities as an outside linebacker,” Mingo said, via Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com.
"I thought it was going to be 10 times worse, but it’s really been a smooth transition, and I’m enjoying it.”
“I’ve talked to coach [Brad] Roll,” Mingo said. “He’s our strength coach. He told me I’m fine where I’m at. As long as I’m doing everything I need to do, I’m good.”
“I don’t see why not,” Mingo said. “I’ll be there.”

Josh Gordon is no stranger to failed drug tests. He failed 3 times while he was in college. Last week the world found out Gordon had another problem passing a drug test. This time Gordon made a statement that his failed drug test was from the use of codeine that was in the cough medicine his doctor prescribed while he was battling with strep throat back in February. The NFL’s new...

Cleveland Browns guard John Greco got his big chance last season when starter Jason Pinkston went down for the season with a blood clot in his lung. He didn't waste his opportunity, impressing boths fans and coaches alike.
He waited four years to become a starter, and he's ready to fight tooth and nail to keep that job.
But things have changed since last season. For one...
Jim Brown may be 77 years old and getting up there in age, but he is still arguably the greatest running back to ever play in the NFL. Now that he is back with the Cleveland Browns, some of the players on the team would be wise to listen closely when he speaks — especially [...]
Lets not pretend that Josh Gordons two-game suspension at the start of the Browns 2013 season is a minor thing.
Its a pretty big thing.
Because it could cost the Browns two wins. Just like Joe Hadens suspension a year ago cost the Browns wins. The two are key players, and their absence matters.
In Haden, the Browns missed their best cover corner. In Gordon, they will miss...

Jimmy Haslam didn’t like the penalty that overturned the Browns TD
I feel like we’ve said this every year for a while now, but I can’t think of a worse time in Cleveland sports. 1 I’m really not going out of my way to dwell in the negative here. I think there are some good things going on in all three Cleveland sports teams right now. I think the Browns have a decent young...
