Barkevious Mingo is coming into this NFL draft a little green as he only came to the game of football in his junior year of high school.  Even though he was still new, he earned a 4 Star Rating as he was recruited and accepted a scholarship to play at LSU.  According to his Wikipedia page he got his unusual first name from his mother, as she created a combination of the first three letters of her first name (Barbara) to the equally random letters Kevious. The name won the 2009 Name of the Year award. Mingo is majoring in Sports Management The Positive: Mingo is tall, lean (6’4”) with excellent lateral movement and an outstanding first step.  He still has room to add weight (241lbs at the combine) which if given the time, will only pay dividends for the team smart enough to give me the time.  He has a non-stop motor that will help any teams in need of getting to the quarterback.  He did take advantage of a superior defense at LSU with other around him, so he can now show how good he can play The Negative: The uncertainty of where he will play in the pros could hurt him. As mentioned above, he needs to put some weight on to handle the rigors of playing hand down as a DE or taking on tackles as an OLB.  Some teams may not want to wait in the “what have you done for me lately” league to take him in the top 10.  He is still growing into this body, but teams will have to be patient for a year or two as catches up.  Another concern could be the lack of knowledge of his strength as he would not  participate in the bench press.
