As perhaps a sign of things to come this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, the Cleveland Browns have signed running back Chris Ogbonnaya, according to J.R. Rickert, Ogbonnaya's agent. He was released last week by the Houston Texans to make room for a couple of new players. There's no word yet on who the Browns waived to make room for Ogbonnaya, who had 3 carries for 6 yards this year. In 2009, he had 11 carries for 50 yards and 1 catch for 19 yards as a member of the St. Louis Rams. He was a seventh-round draft choice by the Rams that year.

Browns sign RB Ogbonnaya

The Cleveland Browns have signed running back Chris Ogbonnaya off Houston's practice squad. Ogbonnaya, who appeared in a pair of games this season with the Texans, will provide backfield depth with starter Peyton Hillis dealing with a hamstring injury. The Browns also cut rookie running back Armond Smith to clear a roster spot. Ogbonnaya was seventh-round pick of St. Louis in 2009.

Texans skidding after strong start

The Houston Texans suddenly seem to have plenty of issues. Mario Williams is out for the year, quarterback Matt Schaub is hurting, and the running game is sputtering. Most significantly, the Texans (3-3) have lost two in a row heading into a pivotal divisional matchup in Tennessee (3-2). Schaub underwent an MRI exam on Monday, and coach Gary Kubiak says he has a chest bruise and...

Derrick Mason Speculation

So what exactly happened within the team to send Derrick Mason packing? If you buy the Jets’ official line, and what Mike Tannenbaum has said, then it’s merely a question of performance and money. Tannenbaum’s quote soon after the deal was made was that Mason “just didn’t play the level that he had hoped and we had hoped.” And so Derrick Mason was demoted against the...

Mason: I Played in New York?

"To me, I went from Baltimore to here [the Texans].  I don’t know what you’re talking about when you mention that other place, but this place here I’m excited about. The two teams that I’ve played for — Tennessee and Baltimore — that’s all I care about. They respected what I did as a player — inside the locker room, on the field and outside the locker room....
