Browns Smith heading for IR?

The Sporting News is reporting that sources have told the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity that Cleveland Browns DE Robaire Smith will be placed on the injured reserve list this week. Smith did not see action this past week when the Cleveland Browns took on the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Monday Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini told reporters that it was possible that Smith’s back injury could be long term. the 11 year veteran defensive end had appeared in the first five Cleveland Browns games this season and recorded 25 tackles and no sacks. Smith has 21 sacks in his career.
