Browns WR Jarvis Landry playing with broken rib

One day after Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield lashed out at critics of his lackluster play in blowout losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers during the first half of the season, veteran wide receiver Jarvis Landry admitted to reporters that he isn't 100 percent.

The 27-year-old who battled a lingering hip injury throughout the 2019 campaign explained on Thursday that he suffered a broken rib during the 32-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 11.

"It hurts," Landry explained, per Nick Shook of NFL.com.

"But depending on the play, whatever, at times it's bearable. We've done a good job making sure I'm getting a little protection here throughout the week, making sure that I cover it up and do whatever I need to do to play on Sundays."

Heading into Sunday's matchup with division and interstate rivals the Cincinnati Bengals, Landry leads the Browns in catches (24) and is tied with Odell Beckham Jr. in receiving yards with 319. Landry (84) is second on the team behind tight end Austin Hooper (106) in yards after catch.

Mayfield, meanwhile, is 17th in the NFL in QBR (67.9). Only the New York Giants (187.5), Baltimore Ravens (177.8), and New York Jets (171.3) are averaging fewer passing yards per game than Cleveland (189.3) after six weeks of play.
