Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked off the Greg Schiano era with a dominant 20-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins in their preseason opener on Friday night. Buccaneers101.com has gone back over the game and here are some of the highlights from the offense: Quarterbacks: A slimmed-down Josh Freeman looked impressive during his only drive of the night behind a smash mouth running game. The Bucs’ starting QB looked poised in the pocket and delivered the ball with accuracy. Freeman completed 4-of-5 passes for 41 yards. His backup, Dan Orlovsky, looked just as good. He stood tall in the pocket and went downfield a couple of times to newcomer Tiquan Underwood. Orvlovsky delivered a pinpoint deep ball to Underwood for a 44-yard gain in the first quarter to set up Tampa Bay’s second score. He finished a perfect 8-of-8 for 91 yards. Third-stringer Brett Ratliff played most of the second half and showed some ability. He completed 6-of-11 attempts for 51 yards. Nothing spectacular and if he doesn’...

Chad Johnson was arrested for alleged domestic violence outside his home after allegedly head-butting his wife during an argument.
Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has gone on the record in regards to why the team cut Chad Johnson in a presser that was televised on the NFL Network.
Philbin assumed a stance that painted a picture that the decision was based on a “body of work” that was put together “both on and off-the-field.”

Well that was quick. Miami Dolphins defensive captain was a guest on the Sid Rosenberg show on 640 AM in Miami and had some strong opinions on the teams decision to release wide receiver Chad Johsnon following his arrest for domestic violence on Saturday night.
This can’t be going over well with new head coach Joe Philbin, whose decision it was to cut Johnson. He first major...
So much for Chad Johnson turning over that new leaf.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and NFL.com, Johnson was arrested in Davie, Fl. on Saturday night for domestic violence.
The incident took place in a car, where the Dolphins receiver allegedly head-butted his wife, Evelyn Lozada, during a "heated argument." Cops on the scene noted Lozada had "a ...
John Jerry entered the offseason as the projected started at right guard, with Vernon Carey gone. Jerry, a 2010 3rd round pick, was drafted to be a starter by this point. However, he struggled in offseason practices and soon fell below Artis Hicks, who was a backup in Cleveland last season and heading into his age 34 season. They also signed Eric Steinbach, heading into his age 32...
The Greg Schiano era officially started last night with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking the field for the first time under his guidance. I have attended Buccaneers training camp this summer and some of the same things I’ve witnessed in practice, showed up on the field last evening against the Miami Dolphins.
The Buccaneers have stated repeatedly this offseason that they want to...
According to Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post, the future of wide receiver Chad Johnson is currently in doubt as a member of the Miami Dolphins.
“Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson’s standing with the Dolphins remained in doubt Sunday following his arrest Saturday night on a domestic violence charge stemming from an altercation with his wife,” reported Volin.
It's far from a crisis, but Dolphins rookie head coach Joe Philbin is facing a bit of a backlash with his handling of the Chad Johnson situation. At least one prominent Dolphins player isn't happy Philbin decided to jettison the controversial wide receiver after his arrest on domestic violence charges. "I hate that we didn't stand behind him," linebacker Karlos...
If the first preseason game -- a 20-7 loss to the Buccaneers on a rainy Friday night in south Florida -- is any indication, Dolphins rookie QB Ryan Tannehill might have a real chance to win the job. Though Miami went three-and-out in his first series, complete with a pass behind receiver Julius Pruitt, Tannehill recovered soon after and finished with 14 of 21 for 167 yards and a...
As you probably already know, Chad Johnson of the Miami Dolphins was arrested on domestic violence charges yesterday. Luckily for him he was able to get in front of a judge early this morning (in some states he would have been in jail until Monday, oh the horror!). Bond was set at $2500 in a very quick hearing as you can see in the video below.
I’m interested to see how this plays...
As @jayglazer reported, Dolphins have released WR Chad Johnson.

Gonna be an interesting episode of hard knocks this week, after Chad Johnson was arrested. Remember what he said last week?
For those who don’t have twitter accounts or are dead to the world on weekends, Chad was arrested for allegedly head-butting his wife which...
So the Miami Dolphins decided to part ways with wide receiver Chad Johnson on Sunday in the wake of Johnson's arrest stemming from a domestic battery incident involving him and his wife on Saturday night. This was supposed to be the time when we would see a revival of a career that had fallen on hard times last season in New England. Johnson was probably going to be the Dolphins...
Innocent until proven guilty right? That theory does not apply when you bring unwanted attention to your business.
The Miami Dolphins are completely within their rights to cut Chad Johnson because he made a mistake that they do not want affiliated with their team.
The league has reported that the 34-year-old has already cleared out his locker at training camp.
Even if his account...
Assigned a $2,500 bail today, Miami Dolphins veteran wide receiver Chad Johnson will be released from jail following his arrest on a domestic violence charge for allegedly head-butting his wife, Evelyn Lozada, and causing a laceration on her forehead. Johnson hasn't been formally charged. If he is, it's a misdemeanor. Johnson is starting for the Dolphins, but his status could...
Well the Chad Johnson experiment didn’t last long in South Beach.
A day after the former star wide out was arrested on domestic violence charges for head butting his wife over a receipt for a box of condoms, the Miami Dolphins released Chad Johnson. (Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer)
The move immediately makes HBO’s Hard Knocks more excited but leaves the Dolphins with Davone Bess...
