Despite upsetting my Carolina Panthers in week one and nearly taking down Eli Manning’s Giants in week 2, Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s head Coach Greg Schiano has drawn the ire of many fans and sports reporters a like. After blowing a 14 point halftime lead, Buc’s QB Josh Freeman threw an interception late in the fourth quarter that sealed the Giants come back. Eli Manning came to the line in the well-known victory formation, intending to take a knee and run the clock out. Now at this point, fans and players alike consider the game to be over. It is an unwritten rule in any level of football that when the QB is kneeling to end the game, there comes a time when you concede the game and understand that, as a defense, there is nothing more to do. The Giants offensive line as well as Eli Manning were under the impression that all coaches, especially in the NFL understood this unwritten rule. Schiano apparently did not. The Coach instructed his line to bull rush the center-guard area, attemptin...

Eli: I told Bucs I was taking a knee

Pretty much everyone watching at home knew Eli Manning was planning to take a knee on the final play of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. According to Manning, he informed the Bucs personally that a game-ending knee was in the cards.

ESPN Intern Fails Has Reached A New Level Of Worthless With Black Eli Manning

BC follower @misterfacetious sent us this dispatch: “I’m sure these will roll in. Mike Wallace aka Eli Manning. Eli, get out of the tanning bed!” This wouldn’t be so bad, but Wallace is a very, very black man. If it wouldn’ve been a lighter black guy like Hines Ward, this fail wouldn’t have been so epic. And how do you mistakenly get Eli’s career bio in there and mix...

Giants, Panthers set to put on show on Thursday Night Football

Manning and Newton should put up big numbers tonight. New York Giants (1-1) @ Carolina Panthers (1-1) Last week, Eli Manning and the Giants were down 27-13 in the third quarter. What did Manning do? Nothing much, just led his team on five scoring drives including two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.  He finished with 510 yards, 3 TDs, and 3 INTs. Not too shabby.  Cam...

Cowboys vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Game Preview

After a stunningly poor performance last week against Seattle, the Cowboys look to right the ship this week in their home opener, against Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers also suffered a setback last week against the Giants, when Eli Manning torched the Bucs secondary for 500+ yards. It’d be nice to see Romo do some of [...] Related posts: Cowboys Fate Comes Down To Final Game The Cowboys...

Turnover-prone Panthers routed by Giants

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Eli Manning didn't need a big comeback Thursday night, not with Andre Brown running for a career-high 113 yards and two touchdowns in the New York Giants' 36-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Brown got the start in place of Ahmad Bradshaw, who sat out with a neck injury. Ramses Barden caught nine passes for a career-high 138 yards in his first...

New York Giants at Carolina Panthers NFL Week 3 Preview

Jim McIsaac/Getty Images Eli Manning threw for the eighth most yards in NFL history against the Bucs, but 510 yards passing is simply unheard of these days. That in itself sounds odd since this ha become a passing league where signal-callers throw for 350-plus yards passing every single week. After the year’s we saw from Manning, Cam Newton, Matthew Stafford, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers...

Hilarious outtakes from those fairy-themed NFL Sunday Ticket commercials

By now, we’ve all seen the commercials for DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket. They’re everywhere. (via daylife.com) The spots feature Deion Sanders, joined this season by Peyton & Eli Manning, as tiny fairy versions of themselves, spreading the gospel of the Sunday Ticket. And while the concept itself is fairly ridiculous, the campaign has allowed its stars to show off their...

Fantasy Football Week 3 Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Dallas CowboysTampa Bay Buccaneers:  The Bucs came off a ridiculous and ultimately heart-breaking come from behind loss to the Giants in Week 2.  For one half the Bucs actually looked good on both offense and defense, capitalizing and Eli Manning miscues and taking a commanding lead.  Then of course, Manning came storming back, took the lead, and then we...

Greg Schiano, the future of NFL kneel-downs: Why he was right

It may sound crazy but Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano had his team in the right state of mind when he told them to play until the end despite the New York Giants being lined up in the victory formation and taking a knee.  In one of the most controversial plays in the early part of the 2012 season, the Buccaneers trailed the Giants in the closing moments of the fourth...
