According to a report earlier this week, the Buccaneers are not a very happy squad. More specifically, as one anonymous player told Pro Football Talk, they're not pleased with Greg Schiano's coaching style.
"Can we send these coaches back to college?" the player reportedly said.
Combine that with the brief sideline dust-up last Sunday between linebacker Adam Hayward and defensive assistant coach Bryan Cox, and you have to wonder if the locker room is falling apart.
Apparently, the answer to that is an emphatic no.
"Somebody said what?” safety Ronde Barber asked the when told about the PFT report. "That's a [expletive] made-up quote. No one in this locker room said that. I can promise you that.”
Hayward also disputed the report that the team wasn't happy with the staff.
"If that were the case, the guys here would have shut it down already and not practiced hard, but today we had a great practice," Hayward said Wednesday. "Everybody was flying around and hitting, getting to the ball.
"You can see the guys are ready to play, ready to work. That other stuff, that can stay on the Internet where it belongs. But in this locker room, I can see it in the guys' eyes. They want to play football; that's why they're here.''

‘Just Go Play’: A Definitive Gallery Of The NFL Network’s Biggest Loudmouth, Warren Sapp
Happy 40th birthday, Warren Sapp! Wow, 40. You’d think that a guy who has been through the entire gauntlet of the Former Pro Athlete’s Textbook would be a little older, but here we are just barely cracking the egg of Sapp’s contribution to society and popular culture alike. One of the truest examples of the brash, arrogant Miami Hurricanes of the late 1980s and early 90s â...
NFL Coroner's Report: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Autopsy
Before Week 15, there were eight victims of the NFL grind, and with arguable exceptions, they were all declared 'dead men walking' quite some time ago. After Week 15's slate of games, there would be another quartet of lifeless masses heaped upon the Football Nation Morgue, all with just a smidgen more optimism than that original group of tagged-and-bagged cases. As these...
St. Louis Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Week 16 NFL Pick
St. Louis Rams (6-7-1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-8)
The Buccaneers got destroyed in New Orleans last week, losing 41-0. I generally like taking teams off a blowout loss. Teams in this situation tend to be overlooked, undervalued, and embarrassed. The most recent case of this was the Cardinals’ blowing out the Lions as huge home dogs last week after that 52-0 loss in Arizona the week...

The Buccaneers hadn’t lost a single game by more than 8 points all season this year, before getting blown out 41-0 against a sub .500 Saints team last week. They quit down the stretch last season and while I think it’s unlikely that’s happening again under disciplinarian...
