Bucs Beat:
The Bucs have made a minor roster move today, releasing center Donovan Raiola from the active roster and replacing him with tight end Nathan Overbay, a promotion from the practice squad.
The Bucs don't seem to have a shortage of tight ends per se, but you might have noticed on Sunday against the Lions that Raiola was used in short-yardage situations as a eligible tight end. Perhaps that's the role the Bucs are looking to fill with the addition of Overbay, who joins Kellen Winslow, John Gilmore and Ryan Purvis as tight ends on the active roster.
Overbay joined the Bucs' practice squad in October after his being release from the Dolphins practice squad in September. Raiola joined the active roster two weeks ago.
