We told you last night the Bucs were looking to sign a young veteran linebacker to add to the depth at that position. They appear to have found exactly such a player in free agent Zach Diles, who was released by the Rams on Saturday. Diles, 26, played for Bucs coach Raheem Morris at Kansas State when Morris was defensive coordinator there in 2006. Diles' agent, Brian Ayrault, confirmed the signing. Diles has started 30 games in his career, all for the Texans, who drafted him in the seventh round in 2007. He joined the Rams this offseason but did not make the team's final roster. The Bucs were looking for depth particularly at middle linebacker, where most of Diles' experience has come. He also has played strong-side linebacker. Diles had a career-high 82 tackles last season when he started 10 games for the Texans.
