Former general manager weighs in on Bucs draft

Experts from across the country have weighed in on the Bucs draft selections but rarely do you see someone who held a front office position break down draft picks team by team. That is exactly what former Denver Broncos general manager Ted Sundquist has done as he chimes in on the selections (and non-selections) the Bucs made. The one that many agree the Bucs did good by selecting...

Report: Ronde Barber’s decision is imminent

Veteran cornerback Ronde Barber was to make his decision last week but it was put on hold due to Warren Sapp’s Ring of Honor press conference that was held Thursday. However, that decision is now expected to come down soon. According to long time Tampa Bay sports reporter J.P. Peterson, he received text messages from Barber saying his decision was “imminent.” Peterson broke...

What quarterback controversy? This is Freeman’s team.

One Buc Place was busy this past weekend with the Bucs holding rookie minicamp. Among the rookies was third round draft pick Mike Glennon who many are calling Josh Freeman’s replacement. But there’s a chance that debate can be put to rest. At least for now. Josh Freeman set team records in passing yards and most touchdowns thrown in a season and in a Buccaneer career during...

2013 NFL Draft Team Grades: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Round Two: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State This is a great selection. Every mock draft writer pegged Banks to the Bucs in round one before his poor combine. I'm still surprised he fell out of round one. The Buccaneers must have been ecstatic when Banks will still available for them in the second round. This is a great value at a position of need. With the signings...

Buccaneers counting on CB Banks to make an impact

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Johnthan Banks isn't making any bold predictions about the impact he'll have as a rookie with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The soft-spoken, second-round draft pick out of Mississippi State is being counted on make a difference in a leaky pass defense this year. However, the rangy cornerback wants to make an impression with strong play rather than words. The...
