Getty Images Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Brian Price has been going through an extremely difficult time this offseason.  He lost his sister Bridget last week after she was involved in a car wreck.  She left behind two sons, one seven and the other nine years-old.  Price plans on adopting both boys. Price has been unable to participate in OTA’s and has actually been hospitalized for mental and physical exhaustion. “There is just no way to explain the grief he’s feeling as a result of this loss,” said agent Charles Price (he’s not related to Brian). “It’s really taken quite a toll on him.” “He was ready to go with the OTAs (organized team activities) starting up on Tuesday, but between a complete lack of sleep and all that he has been dealing with from this loss, he just couldn’t do it,” Charles Price said. “You never want to use the term ‘physical exhaustion,’ but there’s really no other way to describe it. He was dehydrated and after dealing with so much, his body just shut down on him.” We’ll certainly keep Brian and his family in our prayers.

Former UCLA lineman Price hospitalized

I remember interviewing then-UCLA defensive lineman Brian Price before the 2010 NFL draft, where he was taken in the second round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I remember thinking that this kid from the mean streets of Los Angeles had everything it took to succeed in the NFL -- talent, work ethic and great intangibles. What Price hasn't had through his NFL career is good luck...

Former Bruin hospitalized after sister's death

Tampa Bay defensive tackle Brian Price, a former UCLA standout, is once again dealing with heartbreak. His older sister, Bridget, 30, died last week as a result of a car accident in Inglewood. So devastated was Price that he had to be hospitalized in Tampa from Monday through late Thursday after reporting to Buccaneers mini-camp. "He physically broke down," said his agent...

Buccaneers DT Brian Price Will Adopt Children of Late Sister

The up-and-coming Tampa Bay Buccaneers never shared to the public why defensive tackle Brian Price was missing at the team’s OTAs this week.  However, Charles Price, Price’s agent (no relation) revealed the poignant reason to the Tampa Tribune. Bridget Price, an older sister of Brian, died in a car accident last week. Dealing with the loss left Price so physically and emotionally...

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed placekicker Connor Barth to a four-year, $13.2 million contract. The 26-year-old who was second in the NFL in field goal percentage last season was designated the team's franchise player in March. Barth converted 26 of 28 attempts in 2011, including 15 straight to end the year. Since joining the Bucs in 2009, Barth is 63 of 75 on field goal...

Barth Scores 4 Year Deal WIth Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Connor Barth remembers sitting in his car in the parking lot outside the Miami Dolphins’ facility in the summer of 2009, trying to decide if his NFL dream was still worth pursuing. “I didn’t even know if I wanted to play anymore because I was just down on myself,” he said.  “But I kept fighting and I ended up here and just kicked away.  I’m really excited to be where...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers extend K Connor Barth

I don’t think I’ve ever done a grade for a kicker signing, but Barth is one of the best in the league. In 4 seasons, he’s nailed 73 of 87 field goals, including 24 of 26 last year and is perfect on 95 extra point attempts. He also handles all the kickoffs I normally don’t [...]
