TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David wasn't named to the Pro Bowl, but he was recognized for another prestigious honor Friday. David and Bucs defensive tackle Gerald McCoy were named first-team selections to the Associated Press 2013 NFL All-Pro team by a panel of 50 media members. It is the first such honor for both players. David, 23, had a team-high 144 tackles and five interceptions in his second year in the league. He's widely regarded as one of the most versatile talents at his position, but he was not named to the Pro Bowl when selections were announced Dec. 27. "All I can do is play football, man," David said of his absence Monday. "It wasn't up to me. If it was up to me, I'd be in all six spots." Meanwhile, McCoy's placement on the All-Pro teams means more recognition for his stellar year. The 25-year-old had 50 tackles and nine sacks this season, both career highs. He was named to his second Pro Bowl last week, following his initial appearance in the event last year. "I'm going to go back down to New Orleans, watch my team (Oklahoma) beat Alabama … then spend some time with my kids and my wife," McCoy said Monday. "Oh, (I) forgot. I've got to go to Hawaii too."
