While the Bucs have been somewhat quiet in free agency thus far, it doesn’t mean they are not out there looking for players. And since they have been quiet through the media, fans have grown restless and have done their own investigating.   @bucsrmylife yes — Captain Munnerlyn (@captain_41) March 17, 2013   This information was brought to my attention Sunday and early Monday afternoon but was unable to find the tweet itself until now. So there you have it. Bucs fans have been growing restless with the lack of news or movement in free agency. They must feel that if the media isn’t doing it’s job, then why not the fans go out and get the info themselves, right?! Munnerlyn started 34 games for the Carolina Panthers the past four seasons. He registered 208 tackles and five interceptions. He would provide depth to a depleted Buccaneers secondary. The level of interest shown by the team is unclear. The post Bucs have shown interest in Captain Munnerlyn appeared first on The Bay Cave.

Buccaneers ready to pull plug on Darrelle Revis pursuit, growing weary of Jets antics

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are growing tired of dealing with the New York Jets, seemingly going nowhere fast for their interest in conerback Darrelle Revis. It seems the New York Jets removed former general manager Mike Tannebaum, and replaced him with himself. New general manager John Idzik is making the same moves Tannebaum seemed to make, making one wonder who is truely running...

Tim Ryan promotes new nickname for the Bucs’ Doug Martin: The Douggernaut

Since his rise to the national spotlight midway through the 2012 NFL campaign Doug Martin has been stumping for the removal of the muscle hamster moniker that has followed him since before his days in the league but until recently we haven’t had a viable alternative. Today, on SiriusXM NFL radio’s Movin’ the Chains co-host Tim Ryan …

Panthers DE Greg Hardy Looking For A Contract Extension

Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports that the agent for Panthers DE Greg Hardy has approached the team regarding a long-term contract extension. Hardy, 24, is entering the final year of his rookie, so it makes sense that he would be seeking an extension at this point, especially when you consider that he’s coming off of a breakout season that included a career high...

In depth 2013: Carolina Panthers

In a season where Carolina hoped to build on optimism created by Cam Newton’s electric rookie season, the Panthers stumbled to a 1-6 record out of the gate in 2012. Newton himself started slowly as well, throwing just five touchdowns to go with eight interceptions through those first seven games. But the Panthers and Newton both went on a run during the season’s second half....

Fantasy Football Player Profile – Steve Smith, WR

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Biggest Draft Day Regret In Franchise History

Winning the award for worst mistake in draft day history for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is quarterback Vinny Testaverde. After Tampa Bay quarterback Steve Young finished the 1986 NFL season with a record of 2-12, eight touchdowns and 13 interceptions, the Buccaneers deemed Young a bust and traded him to the San Francisco 49ers for two draft picks. The Buccaneers then went on to use...

Bucs players can’t talk with Darrelle Revis

The Buccaneers appear to be inching closer to a deal with the New York Jets for cornerback Darrelle Revis. Some reports already have the Bucs penciled in as having a deal in place to offer Revis which seems logical. Many have even suggested that Revis is aware of this said deal. However, with the league’s anti-tampering rules, it can not be the Bucs front office that reaches out...

The Bucs and Brent Grimes are talking

The Bucs have had a plan all along. Everyone has been trying to figure what exactly they are up to, not signing any help for their secondary. But it seems like they are working how they work, quietly. Free agent cornerback Brent Grimes has drawn interest from a couple teams during free agency. It was reported erroneously last week that he had re-signed with the Falcons. Now it appears...

Bucs early free agency moves a mixed bag

TAMPA, Fla. One week has passed, and gifts have been granted. If free agency is like the NFLs Christmas, then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have mixed feelings about what left and landed in their facility. The good: The Bucs inked a marquee secondary signing. Dashon Goldson is a proven pro who offers a needed boost at safety. Hes agile at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, and at 28 years...

Bucs considering first round pick for Darrelle Revis

It appears the Bucs may be upping the ante on possible trade offers to the New York Jets. The speculation of the Buccaneers offering a second and a fourth round pick or a second this year and a potential first next season may no longer be an option.   To be clear, Bucs won’t rule out using a first round pick for Revis. No offer made, undecided at this point. Would consider it...
