Last week, I published a story about the Bucs possibly tampering with Darrelle Revis based off of something that Jason La Canfora told 98.7 The Fan in Tampa. In case you forgot or never read it, you can check it out here. In a nutshell, La Canfora said the Bucs spoke with Revis’ agent about money for a potential contract. Now to the present. Monday night, via Newsday.com, something caught my attention in their Revis article: “Although Dominik has not received permission to speak with Revis’ agents, the Bucs reportedly have told the agents for available cornerbacks that they are waiting to see whether they can strike a deal for Revis.” What caught my attention? Dominik has not received permission to speak with Revis. Interesting. We have a credible reporter in Jason La Canfora claiming the Bucs have spoken to Darrelle Revis’ rep/agent but in the Newsday report (which was off of the Tampa Bay Times) they say the Bucs haven’t gotten permission from the Jets to talk to Revis or his camp. Before the published article last week, the league threw in a good ol’ “no comment” line when asked about La Canfora’s claims. They stated they would not comment based off of the interview on 98.7 The Fan. Have also made attempts to reach out to La Canfora but he has not returned requests for comment. So as it stands we have one report saying they have talked to Revis’ agent and another saying they haven’t been given permission. If both are true, then a tampering violation has occurred and the league will have to decide what route to take. The other possibility is that one or both reports are wrong. At the end of the day, it’s just more to look into in this Darrelle Revis trade saga. The post Bucs never given permission to talk to Revis appeared first on The Bay Cave.
