Via the Buccaneers communications release: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have signed linebacker Danny Lansanah from the New York Jets’ practice squad. Lansanah (6-1, 255) entered the league as a college free agent with Green Bay in 2008. He played in five games with the Packers as a rookie, recording two special teams tackles. He has been with the Jets for the first 13 weeks of this season. Lansanah will wear No. 51 for the Buccaneers. A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Lansanah played collegiately at the University of Connecticut, starting 34-of-45 games, totaling 323 tackles, with 35 for loss, and 10 interceptions. He was named first-team All-Big East following his senior season. The team also announced today that linebacker Jonathan Casillas has been placed on Injured Reserve. This season, Casillas has played in all 12 games, starting four, totaling 25 tackles, two passes defensed and a forced fumble. He leads the Buccaneers with nine special teams tackles.
