After an 0-3 start to the season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have benched quarterback Josh Freeman. Rookie Mike Glennon will start for Tampa this Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals. Freeman has been abysmal so far this season.  He has completed just 45.7% of his passes through three games. That kind of  completion percentage won’t cut it at any level of football. Tampa’s poor start to the season can’t all be placed on Freeman.  A late hit penalty on linebacker Levonte David as time expired set up the New York Jets for the winning field goal in the season opener.  The following week Tampa lost on a last second field goal to the New Orleans Saints, 16-14.  After staying with New England in the first half on Sunday Tampa was blown out, 23-3. Freeman has seemingly tried to give his job away with his poor play.  However, there were signs this was coming off the field as well. There was a controversy a few weeks ago when Freeman wasn’t elected a team captain after having been in previous seasons.  Freeman then missed the team photo. Bucs head coach Greg Schiano is in his second season and there are signs he might be losing the locker room.  Last week corner back Darrelle Revis was said to have had a private meeting with Schiano.  With a reputation as a control freak and no prior head coaching experience in the NFL Schiano may very well be in over his head. Glennon, a rookie from North Carolina State, will make his NFL debut against the Cardinals and their 26th ranked pass defense.  He does have some excellent weapons to work with including running back Doug Martin and wide receivers Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams.  Glennon was a third round pick in this year’s NFL Draft. Tampa has been a grease fire thus far this season and even if Glennon is the guy he used to back up at NC State, Russell Wilson, it might not be enough to put out that fire.  Glennon isn’t Wilson and the Bucs aren’t going anywhere this season, however, Schiano might be asked to after the season.     The post Bucs Sack Their Own QB appeared first on UTSN - The Universal Takeover Sports Network.
