Bucs Sign 14 Players To Futures Contracts
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

The Bucs have signed 14 players from their practice squad to futures contracts for next season, the team announced on Tuesday. These players will report to the team when OTAs and mandatory mini-camp rolls around in the spring and when training camp starts up in the summer.

Here is the list as follows.

Bucs Offensive Players

OT Silas Dzansi

OL Luke Haggard

WR Cephus Johnson

RB Patrick Laird

WR Ryan Miller

G Logan Stenberg

TE Tanner Taula

WR Raleigh Webb

TE David Wells

The most notable names on this list of offensive players comes from the tight end group with Taula and Wells. Taula made for some tough competition among the tight end group and has some exciting potential for next season. Wells played in five games for the Bucs this year, but recorded two catches for -10 yards in it. At offensive tackle, Dzansi could compete for a roster spot as depth for the offensive line next season.

Bucs Defensive Players

CB Keenan Isaac

S Richard LeCounte

CB Quandre Mosely

OLB Jose Ramirez

Players to watch on this list would be the cornerback Isaac and outside linebacker Ramirez. Isaac showed he can make some plays during training camp, taking the ball away several times. But he also got burned often to allow huge plays.

At the end of training camp, Todd Bowles said outside linebacker was one of the toughest positions to make a decision on an Ramirez was part of it. Tampa Bay has plenty of depth at outside linebacker, but there’s a reason they kept Ramirez on it all season. Ramirez joined the Pewter Report Podcast last year, which you can take a listen to.

Two Bucs Not Re-Signed Yet

The only Bucs that weren’t signed to a future contract with Tampa Bay was cornerback Derrek Pitts and defensive lineman Deadrin Senat, so they are free agents. Pitts played in four games for the Bucs this season. Senat has been with the Bucs for two years. He played in 12 games last year and was on the active roster for three games this time around, recording a tackle.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Pitts and Senat come back, especially for Senat. There’s a chance that Tampa Bay’s defensive line room looks different next year as Greg Gaines and Will Gholston are set to be free agents this offseason. Having some familiarity with Senat could help.
