Martin Fennelly took a whole new angle in his latest article about the Glazers and the coaching search. For once, he was fair, concise and provided well thought out commentary on the situation. Of course that’s a lie. He used yet more bandwidth to call the Glazers cheap, basically saying that they settled for Raheem Morris because he didn’t cost a lot and seemed like the best option for the money. It’s easy to wonder about that even after the end of Raheem Morris as Bucs coach, easy to wonder if the Glazers and Dominik are committed to exploring all options to find a head coach in much the same way they explored all options to improve this team before last season. Then he makes the argument that Mike Sherman is actually a budget coaching choice because of his most recent NFL record (4-12) rather than someone like Jeff Fisher. And he doesn’t even really give Fisher a ringing endorsement. I’m not saying Fisher’s elevated status isn’t partly ...

Report: Morris new Vikings D.C.?

The buzz Tuesday morning indicates that recently fired Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris is on the Vikings short list and could ultimately land in the Twin Cities to take over coordinating Minnesota's woeful defense.

Bucs going old, not bold, in search for coach

One week since they gave Raheem Morris the boot as head coach, the Glazer Family seems to be conducting an exhaustive search for his replacement as Tampa Bay Bucs head coach. If, by exhaustive, you mean candidates who are exhausted, that is. The Glazer braintrust has gone from the young and restless regime of 36-year-old Morris to a list of potential successors well into their...

Raheem Morris says he’ll be an assistant somewhere this year

A Week into Coaching Search, Few Answers Abound

The Bucs aren't much closer to their next head coach. So far little has turned up in the Buccaneers search for a new head coach besides an unsettling trend. Raheem Morris was given the axe last Monday and since then the Bucs have interviewed a number of candidates that are seemingly less and less palatable by the interview. I’ve said before that I wasn’t a big fan...

Ex-Bucs coach Morris plans to coach in 2012

Raheem Morris can't wait to get back to work.

Vikings request to speak with Mel Tucker

Raheem Morris has competition in Minnesota regarding the team’s defensive coordinator position. Even though their defensive coordinator position isn’t open. Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Minnesota requested permission to speak with Jaguars interim head coach Mel Tucker. The job would presumably to run the Vikings defense, although current defensive...

Fennelly: Bucs' drive for a seasoned coach gets old

After Raheem Morris, the Buccaneers are clearly looking for experience — lots of it — in the next head coach.

Bucs Should Consider Karl Dunbar

In the Buccaneers coaching search, Karl Dunbar should be considered when it comes to the Defensive Line TAMPA — The coaching search for the Bucs extends beyond just the head coaching vacancy. The entire staff was relieved of their duties and Tampa is looking to fill all the holes. The job to fill the positions may be left up to the ultimate head coach but a guy the Buccaneers...
