Three years into his six-year, $59 million contract, the Buffalo Bills have decided to part ways with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. He leaves Buffalo with a 19-31 record. With the Buffalo Bills releasing quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, look for new coach Dan Marrone to draft a quarterback who is familiar with his playbook and play calling. Someone who Marrone believes can come right in and start as a rookie. There aren’t many free agent quarterbacks out there that are a better option than Ryan Fitzpatrick.  So, I am looking for the Bills to pick up a quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft. There are plenty of options at quarterback in the Draft. However, there is really only one logical pick for the Bills with the eighth selection of the first round. However, the selection might surprise people and might not surprise others. Ryan Nassib played for Doug Marrone at Syracuse. They were there for all four years together. Nassib is Syracuse’s all-time leading passer with 9,120 yards with 70 passing touchdowns compared to only 28 interceptions during his college career. As a senior in 2012 he threw for 3,749 yards and 26 touchdowns with 10 picks while leading the Orange to a 8-5 record. Nassib has good size at 6’3” and 230 pounds; he is a prototypical drop back passer with a great arm.Marrone doesn’t have to second guess Matt Barkley or Mike Glennon, why should he when he already knows the player he’ll get with Ryan Nassib.Buffalo needed a change and they needed one now. Let’s hope the Bills don’t screw this up and draft someone like Matt Barkley. Ryan Nassib can be a leader for the Bills for at least the next decade and maybe even help return them to the greatness Buffalo had in the 1990s.
