TEAMS: Buffalo Bills
A development group laid out its plans for a retractable-roof football stadium in Buffalo on Tuesday, but multiple media reports indicated that the new venue is far from a sure thing to be the future home of the Buffalo Bills. For one thing, the Bills aren't involved in the proposed $1.4 billion project that would include the 72,000-seat stadium, a hotel, a convention center and a sports museum. The NFL won't give its endorsement to the project unless the Bills sign off. "We haven't considered a proposal without club support," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Buffalo News. According to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, the Bills' lease with Ralph Wilson Stadium in suburban Orchard Park, N.Y., expires in July, and negotiations with Erie County and the state of New York have been "sluggish." Mayor Byron W. Brown told the Buffalo News he hasn't committed to the project that is being planned by Greater Buffalo Sports & Enter...

What is wrong with the Buffalo Bills defense?

The power and attraction of sports is found in the lack of a script. We go into every season with a pre-conceived notion of what we expect to happen, knowing full well that predictions at the start of the season usually fall foolishly to the way side by week three or so. Even with this knowledge in hand, no one could have predicted the Buffalo Bills would have the poor...

Proposed Buffalo stadium would move the Bills downtown

Despite the play of the Buffalo Bills over the last 12 years, plans are in the works for a new 1.4 billion stadium that would sit along Buffalo’s outer harbor. The proposed 72,000 seat stadium would feature a retractable roof, convention center, hotel and retail shops.“This is an all-purpose facility that can be used year-round for a variety of events, concerts, festivals, trade shows...

Buffalo Bills: Mario Williams to Opt for Wrist Surgery?

It hasn’t quite been the ideal scenario for Mario Williams up to this point if Buffalo. Less than half a season after jumping ship from Houston to become the highest paid defensive player in all of football, his team is falling apart, his performance has been lackluster and the grumpy fans in Buffalo are already turning on him. I got a lot of flack out there from Bills fans...

Bills' Mario Williams considering surgery

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams will possibly undergo surgery on his injured left wrist during the team's bye week, reports Buffalo News. Williams has blamed the wrist injury for his lack of production.  He has only 3.5 sacks this season and had only one solo tackle in Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans. “I need to play better, and I need to get healthy,”...

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams had surgery on his left wrist, the team announced Wednesday. Kelsay questions teammates' effort

Chris Kelsay is in no mood to enjoy Buffalo's bye week after the latest meltdown from the Bills' high-priced defense. And the veteran defensive end delivered a tough-worded critique Monday that should make the upcoming break uncomfortable for his teammates, too. Declining to single anyone out, Kelsay accused players of lacking effort in a 35-34 loss to Tennessee a day earlier...

A person with direct knowledge of Mario Williams' plans says the defensive end has rejoined the Buffalo Bills and expects to play at Houston this weekend following a ''procedure'' on his sprained left wrist. The person provided the update Monday when Buffalo (3-4) returned from its bye week. The person spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity...

NFL Rumors: Buffalo Bills DE Mario Williams considering surgery

The disappointing season for the Buffalo Bills might just get a little more disappointing. Reports suggest that DE Mario Williams is considering having wrist surgery. The Buffalo News asked Bills head coach Chan Gailey about the rumors, but he had no comment. If Williams has wrist surgery, he could be the second player in the high priced defensive line of the Bills to miss time this...

Will A New Stadium Keep The Bills In Buffalo...???

((HT: WIVB-TV)) The Buffalo Bills already play a home game in Toronto. And, for some, that's a home game (or two) too many home games north of the border and away from Orchard Park and Rich Stadium. So, with Bills owner Ralph Wilson getting closer to the day when he won't be around and his family either divided or disinterested in keeping the Bills after that event...

Watching Ryan Fitzpatrick play quarterback is exhausting. This wasn’t always the case. Hell, you know what? Maybe it was, but it’s in our nature to see victorious lapses through rose-colored glasses. It’s a painful thing to have followed over the past two years, the degeneration of Fitzpatrick from idolized messiah to gut-wrenching wildcard. It’s the nature of any fanbase...

Talkamania 22: Mario vs. the media

The 2nd part of Talkamania 22 is here. I'm joined by The Barrister from Dear God, Why Us? Sports to discuss the relationship with Mario Williams. From refrigerators to a PR person to being soft spoken, it is petty stuff at its finest. As usual, we kind of take Mario's side. Yes, we can't talk about how bad the team is because that's been done year in and year...
