Found January 31, 2009 on Dallas Cowboy Blog:
Bullet Bob Hayes was inducted into the Hall of Fame today. It was a great moment, but it had an element of sadness to it because Hayes passed away in 2002 and will not be there to celebrate the moment. I started following the Cowboys in 1972 when I was in the first grade, and Bob Hayes was my first hero. I was priviliged to see him score his last touchdown as a Cowboy, a thirty five yard touchdown pass from Roger Staubach in a 14-6 loss to the New York Giants. He was at the tail end of his career; and he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers the following year, but he only played four games for the 49ers, and then he retired. I was glad, because he was one of those players who simply did not belong in a uniform other than the Cowboys. May Bullet Bob Hayes rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
