DAVIE, Fla. On his last visit to Buffalo, Reggie Bush capped the best day of his NFL career by sliding through the end zone following a fourth-quarter 76-yard touchdown run. Now, hes doing a nosedive. After a phenomenal end to last season and an impressive start to this one, the Dolphins running back lately has been paranormal. At least Bush knows it. I have to apologize to Dolphin Nation my performance these past few weeks has been poor & I'm embarrassed right now! You guys deserve better, Bush tweeted earlier this week to his 2.68 million followers. Seems like Thursday night at Buffalo would be a good time to make up for his recent crummy showings. Its the biggest game of the season for the Dolphins (4-5) and Bush showed what he could do last December against the Bills. In a 30-23 victory at Ralph Wilson Stadium, Bush rushed for a career-high 203 yards. That was the third game of a four-game finishing stretch in which he had 519 yards. Then Bush started this season with 302 yards his first 2 games, including 172 in Week 2 against Oakland, when he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. But after being knocked out of the next weeks game late in the first half against the New York Jets with a knee injury, Bush hasnt been the same guy. In his past six games, Bush has rushed 76 times for 253 yards for a meager 3.3 average. The knee supposedly is fine but something else sure is wrong. After Bush lost a fumble late in the first quarter in last Sundays 37-3 home loss to Tennessee, he was benched for the next six series. After he returned, he didnt get another carry, finishing the day with four for 21 yards. Bush said it the first time in his life hed been benched. Obviously, Dolphins coach Joe Philbin factored in Bushs recent poor play, including having previously lost two fumbles this season. I just felt like I havent been playing as well as I know I can these past few weeks, Bush said when asked about his apology to fans on Twitter. Its been a little up and down and it hasnt really been where I would like it to be. Im my biggest critic of myself and I always set the highest goals and highest standards for myself, so I havent been playing to where I know Im capable of. If Bush wants to get it going again, theres no better place than at Buffalo. The Bills are last in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game. If Bush cant run on them, he cant run on anybody anymore. How big the game is for the Dolphins cant be understated. Theyre two games behind New England (6-3) in the AFC East and two games in back of Indianapolis (6-3) and Pittsburgh (6-3) in the wild-card race. Plus, theyve already lost to the Colts, meaning they wouldnt win a tiebreaker with them. A loss Thursday and the playoff hopes are all but done for the Dolphins. With two games looming against New England and one at San Francisco, they likely would finish with a losing record, which is what just about everybody predicted. A win, though, and Miami might make things interesting for at least a few more weeks. And Thursdays game against the Bills (3-6), who have lost five of six, is certainly winnable. I think were all a little happy to have this game on Thursday because it gives us a chance to kind of erase this last game and get back to a football game very quickly, Bush said. You just get to hurry up and kind of erase that last loss, erase that sting a little bit. Plenty of Miami players are trying to make up for the debacle against Tennessee. Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill, after throwing 107 straight passes without an interception, tossed three. The normally steady defense gave up the most points the Dolphins have allowed since last seasons opener. But for Bush, the slump has been a lot longer than just one week. Its time for him to turn it around. Chris Tomasson can be reached at christomasson@hotmail.com or on Twitter @christomasson

Reggie Bush tweets apology to Dolphins fans

Reggie Bush had perhaps his worst outing in recent memory during Sunday's 37-3 trouncing by the visiting Titans. The seventh-year running back totaled just 21 yards on four carries and one catch for 8 yards against a bad Tennessee defense. Most notably, Bush lost a fumble in the first quarter, his second muff of the year. The mistake prompted coach Joe Philbin to bench his...

NFL Rumors: Reggie Bush Playing His Way Out Of Miami With Poor Play For Dolphins?

Reggie Bush was the savior of the Miami Dolphins in 2011. He was the only player in history to ever make Jeff Ireland look smart. After many said the trade that brought in Bush from the New Orleans Saints would do absolutely nothing to make the Dolphins better, Bush proved them all wrong and, in doing so, demonstrated that he could handle a full workload at running back. As good...

Bush benched, Tannehill erratic, Defense lifeless in loss to Titans

The Miami Dolphins did not show up on Sunday against the Titans. Quite simply, the Dolphins came out flat and stayed that way throughout the game. Where was the Dolphins dominant rushing defense? Where was the efficient quarterback play? Where was the turnover free football that has helped the Dolphins of late? None of it was present on Sunday. I’ll apologize now, as I...

Reggie Bush Hopes He Doesn’t See Topless Buffalo Women During Rowdy Bills-Dolphins Matchup

Reggie Bush might not have been on the field much during the Dolphins 37-3 blowout loss to the Titans, after coughing up a costly first half fumble. But he figures to be featured in the offense once again on this week as Miami heads to Buffalo for a quick turnaround on Thursday night. During an appearance on the Paul and Young Ron Show in Miami on Wednesday morning, Bush admitted...

Looking to Turn the Page

Reggie Bush is out of Coach Joe Philbin's doghouse, which might not be large enough to house all of the deserving Miami Dolphins. Bush and teammate Richie Incognito were benched for part of Sunday's 37-3 loss to Tennessee, but they were hardly the only culprits in the Dolphins' most lopsided home defeat since 1968.

Reggie Bush takes a shot at Buffalo women

Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush was a guest on the Paul and Young Ron Show down in Miami, when one of the hosts joked that this week’s game up in Buffalo would include topless women in freezing temperatures. “You don’t wanna see that.”  then the second host said, “No, God no.” “Not Buffalo women,” Bush responded, via Pro Football Talk. Now we’ll soon read...

Bush, Incognito sit for miscues

Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has made it clear there's nobody bigger than the team, and in Sunday's 37-3 loss to the Titans he backed up his philosophy with action. Philbin benched two starters -- tailback Reggie Bush and left guard Richie Incognito -- for their mindless plays during Miami's embarrassing loss. Bush, who ended with 21 yards on four carries, was...

Reggie “Not Getting Any” Bush in Buffalo tomorrow

Last February, Pats quarterback Tom Brady took a jab at Buffalo hotels, and Dolphins running back Reggie Bush upped the ante this week by insulting the women of that fine city. During a recent appearance on Miami’s “Paul and Young Ron Show,” Bush managed to get himself in hot water with the female population of an entire city. After discussing the fact that he was benched in...

Rabbit Punches: Soldier Field Condition Reminiscent of Actual 1800′s Battle Field

Reggie Bush found himself on the bench this week after continued trouble with fumbles. Next in line to take Bush’s spot are Kris Humphries and Kanye West. As America honored our veterans on Sunday, Soldier Field played a fitting host to the Sunday night game in more than just its name. The weather played a big role between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans, and the actual...

Week 11 Rush Defense: My Vote’s Still For Bush, Not Gore

Sorry Chris Johnson owners, you’re going to have to start someone else this week.  Just think of it like one of the first three weeks of the season again, only this time you know you shouldn’t start him. If you were paying any attention to the Bears/Texans game last Sunday night, you should know The Texans are not easy to run on.  This makes an already struggling Rashad Jennings...

Short Week, Short Memory for Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins were left shell shocked on Sunday in their 37-3 loss to the Titans.  The Dolphins came out flat, sloppy, and looked like they wanted to be anywhere but on the football field.  The good news for the Dolphins is that they don’t have to wait very long to get back on the field and right the wrongs that took place on Sunday.  The Dolphins will be leaving Wednesday...

NFL Week 11 Picks: Thursday Night Edition

If the Bills and Dolphins are smart, these two should have the ball all night long Miami Dolphins (4-5) @ Buffalo Bills (3-6) The Bills and Dolphins are both looking up at the 6-3 Patriots at this point, because both teams have some serious issues.  The Bills can't stop the run and the Dolphins can't stop the pass and both have a penchant for turning the ball over....
