Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush said he's "optimistic" he won't miss any time with the left knee injury he suffered last week but he still hasn't been cleared by team doctors to play Sunday at Washington.
"I feel a lot better than I thought I was going to be feeling at this point in time" Bush said during his weekly interview on WXYT-FM (97.1) this morning. "My knee feels pretty good. It's a day-to-day thing right now. Thankfully I avoided anything serious that might have required surgery or being out for a long period of time."
Bush took a helmet to his knee midway through the second quarter of last weekend's 25-21 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
He sat out most of the rest of the game and the Lions' offense struggled in his absence managing just 90 total yards and no offensive touchdowns in the second half.
