Two things that stick out the most after this win for the Buffalo Bills is that Jarius Byrd saved Chan Gailey from possibly losing his job, and Jay Feely may be the biggest tool in the NFL. In case you did not watch the game yesterday, or Sunday Night Countdown, or missed Sports Center this morning, the Bills defeated the Arizona Cardinals yesterday 19-16 in overtime. After being embarressed last Sunday in San Francisco, the team stayed out west where they prepared themselves for the 4-1 Cardinals. Offensively Ryan Fitzpatrick did not play his best game. The Harvard grad connected on 18 of 32 passes for 153 yards. Both of the Bills touchdowns came via the run with CJ Spiller and Fred Jackson combining for 141 rushing yards. Stevie Johnson caught 8 passes for 83 yards and found himself open quote often against one of the best young cornerbacks in the league in Patrick Petersen. Defensively, the Bills played one of their better games and it all started with the front 7. Mario Williams and Nick Barnett each had two sacks with Chris Kelsay chipping in with one. The defense produced a safety to go along with Byrds two interceptions, the most crucial one coming in overtime which set up Rian Lindells game winning field goal.   Read More Here!

Merriman had been released by the Bills this preseason after 1 1/2 ineffective seasons in Buffalo. He was playing with the third-string unit in preseason games and still barely making a mark, a far cry from the "Lights Out" days when...

Buffalo Bills Bring Back LB Shawne Merriman - With defensive end…

Buffalo Bills Bring Back LB Shawne Merriman - With defensive end Mark Anderson out indefinitely with a knee injury, the Bills are bringing back Shawne Merriman, whom they cut earlier this year. Merriman didn’t necessarily look like he had a lot left when they released him in August, and he said he was waiting for a team that played a 3-4 defense to call. So either the Bills have...

Report: Shawne Merriman Signs With Bills as Buffalo Desperately Tries to Shore Up Defense

The Buffalo Bills knew something had to happen after posting back-to-back weeks of some of the worst defensive performances in NFL history. Signing a retread who couldn't make the cut in training camp may not be it, but it's certainly a start. Shawne Merriman, who was cut coming out of camp despite saying he was in the best shape in years, is reportedly...

Field Goals on beating the Titans

The Bills at 3-3 aren’t the same as the Patriots at 3-3. In fact, it is hard to believe that the Bills have arrived at the same record as the team that rolled them only two weeks ago. However, sports are more about the destination, not the journey. So far the destination for the Bills is the exact same as a number of teams who, on paper, would likely be considered vastly superior...

Statistic of the Week: 4.78

Joe has given me the opportunity to write a weekly piece here at Buffalo Wins and I’d like to thank him for that. The weekly piece will likely come every Monday morning and essentially revolve around one statistic that I feel is central to the team’s performance that week, or over the past few weeks, positive or negative. Given the bizarre (to put it nicely) nature of this...
