Caleb Williams explains how he can win a championship for the Chicago Bears
Jason Parkhurst-USA TODAY Sports

Caleb Williams has big plans for the Chicago Bears if the team selects him in the 2024 NFL Draft. While appearing on The Pivot Podcast, the former USC Trojans quarterback revealed how he can lead the Bears to a Super Bowl win.

“One is through my care, one for football, one for my teammates but also something I’ve done myself is community-wise bringing the whole landscape together,” Williams said. “I did it at [Gonzaga College], I’ve done it here at USC. We’ve sold out games here at USC and that hasn’t been done in a couple years, bringing the fans back, bringing the love and joy.

“One of the things that I get a lot is kind of what we spoke about when I first sat down is I get a lot of thanks yous from USC fans and people around the city, not just at the games but I’ll be at Honor Bar and [Beverly] Hills and I get a random thank you for doing this for USC. So bringing the community and showing my care for all three levels for myself, football, for my teammates and then for the community that makes game days, the game, everything the city lively and fun and enjoyable and all of that. “

Williams went on to say that “care goes a long way” when it comes to building a relationship with a city that loves football. Chicago is one of those cities as they continue to show up for the Bears despite missing the playoffs the three years.

Chicago Bears GM reveals what he likes about Caleb Williams

The Bears have done their homework on Williams as they visited him at the Combine and USC’s Pro Day before bringing him in for a visit. Bears general manager Ryan Poles revealed what stands out with Williams after talking to him.

“I think how he prioritizes everything that’s going on in his life with the NIL,” Poles said in March, per NBC Sports Chicago. “Also with how he’s bringing his teammates together. You have situations where the guy is driving a sweet car, and he’s up in some penthouse with a really nice place in LA.

“You can isolate yourself and kind of be different than everyone else, but you feel like he’s bringing others along and kind of sharing what he has to kind of help bond the team together over the last few years. That’s important to see. It has been a cool kind of thing to unpack because it’s very different, right? You have to adjust your eyes a little bit.”
